Aksel Ersoy,Doctoral Researcher, Member of Executive Board of CESRAN and the Director of Economic Studies of CESRAN

After he graduated from Middle EastTechnicalUniversity with BA in City and Regional Planning, he had his masters degree in Urban Planning at Politecnico di Milano University and Town Planning at SheffieldUniversity. At the moment, he is a doctoral researcher at the University of Birmingham and he is working on local and regional economic development in Turkey.

Husrev TABAK,MA degree Researcher and Member of Executive Board of CESRAN.

He has got his MA degree from Institute of Security Sciences, Turkey and started a PhD study in the same institution. He is currently studying at SOAS, University of London and planning to continue his PhD study in the UK as a postgraduate sponsorship student of Turkish Government. His research interests contain two main research areas:security studies and foreign policy.

In addition he is the Managing Editor of Journal of Global Analysis and Political Reflection of CESRAN.

Ozgur Tufekci, Doctoral Researcher and Chairman of CESRAN

As a student of international relations, Ozgur Tufekci has got his MA degree from University of Sheffield and currently, he is a doctoral researcher in Human Geography at the University of Birmingham in UK.His research topic is “The Discourses of Eurasianism in Turkey after the Cold-War Era”.

Furthermore, he is the Chairman of CESRAN and Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Global Analysis.

Target group:

This course is intended for participants who have a particular interest on foreign policy, regional studies, and politics in Turkey. Since the course covers the core concepts and the current debates, a target audience can be people of any age groupwho are interested in those areas.Therefore, those who want to extend their knowledge about international relations, foreign policy, regional studies and politics from different point of views are very welcome. On the other hand, the course will be of considerable benefit for the ones who are planning to pursue further studies on social sciences, especially politics, history, and even sociology, and for the one who has already been involved in a jobrelated to politics.

Learning objectives:

The course “Turkish Foreign Policy” will be put together to make target groups more conscious of Turkey’s Foreign Relations and the activities in Middle East, Caucasus, Central Asia and Europe.

Understanding Turkey’s role in the contemporary world;

Analysing Turkish Foreign Affairs through the lens of an expert;

Criticising Turkey and her Neighbours’ policies with sufficient knowledge;
