WORKSHEET INSTRUCTIONS:
  1. Select (highlight or underline) 8 courses for next year.
  2. Required subjects for each grade are shaded in grey. Be sure that you have taken/are taking required courses.
  3. You must select two (2) alternative courses. Be sure you are willing to take these courses because they will be used if your first choices do not fit into your timetable.
  4. Complete your course selection online at using your completed worksheet as a guide.
  5. Your myBlueprint account will:

-Display your academic history

-Check for pre-requisite courses

-Calculate what courses you need to graduate

-List post-secondary programs you are eligible for

SPECIAL NOTES:

  1. Changes to a student’s program will only be made for sound educational reasons if space is available.
  2. Changes may be made by a Counselorin instances where a student selects a course for which they do not have the prerequisite or if the course is no longer being offered. Either the appropriate course (based on the student’s prerequisite) or one of the student’s alternative courses will be used as a replacement.
  3. It is very difficult to make changes to a student’s program, so please do your research andchoose wisely..
  4. AMR and AMV102/202 courses take place outside of the regular school day (Gr. 9-11 students this will be a 9th course, Gr. 12 students a 7th course)
  5. To enroll in courses coded with P9 a student must have an IEP (Individual Education Plan).
  6. Students may enroll in only 1 (one) IDC4U course.
  7. Students choosing FUNCAL with a mark below 75% in MCR3U1must carry 7 courses on their timetables.

Online Course Selection Guide for Students 2015-2016

This step-by-step guide will help you complete online course selection using the myBlueprint website.

1)VISIT /TDSB

2)ALREADY HAVE AN ACCOUNT? Login as an Existing User.Enter your email and password and click Login. (If you have not already entered your OEN into your myBlueprint account, you will be prompted to input your OEN upon logging in.)

CREATE AN ACCOUNT –If you are a New User, selectyour school – Sir OliverMowat CI, and click Create Account. From there you will be prompted to input your Grade, OEN, and Date of Birth.

NOTE: Your OEN can be found on your Timetable, Credit Counselling Summary and through the Mowat CI Library website (click Our Online Resources  OEN Lookup)

3)COURSE SELECTION–Oncein My Profile, click on the Submit Courses button that appears in the Course Selection box on the right. (The button will sayPlan Courses if course selection is not enabled.)

4)ADD COURSES FOR NEXT YEAR

Using your worksheet as a guide,

  • In the High School Planner (Official High School Plan), click View Plan.
  • Click Add [Course]in the column of the grade you will be entering into next year.
  • In the Course Selection and Details screen, explore the available courses. Please note: Guidance messages appear at the top of the course description. These messages inform you about additional/recommended requirements for the course.
  • Click Add Course to Plan when you find the course you want.
  • You MUST also select two (2) alternative courses. Click Add Alternative. (Be sure that you are willing to take these courses because they will be used if your first choices do not fit into your timetable.)

5)CHECK FOR PRE-REQUISITES– If you add a course for which you do NOT have the prerequisite, it will appear in red. Do NOT Submit your course selections with any red flags. You should (1) change your course selection to a course for which you have the prerequisite or (2) see your Guidance Counsellor if you have any questions.

6)GRADUATION INDICATOR– the Graduation Indicator will help you keep track of your progress. Click View Progress for a list of specific graduation requirements.

7)SUBMIT COURSES – When you are ready to submit your course selections (without red flags), click Submit (Step 1 of 2). Note: the Submit button will only appear if course selection is enabled by your school.

8)CONFIRM & PRINT – Carefully review the Submission Details page to ensure that you are meeting the requirements for the courses you have selected and that the courses that appear are correct. Once you have reviewed, clickConfirm & Print.

YOU’RE DONE! Print and return a signed copy of your Course Selection

Sign-Off Sheet to your Homeform Teacher by February 27th, 2015.
