Course Selection Procedure – 2014-15

Course Selections forSeptember 2014-2015 are due Tuesday, February 18th. Instructions regarding the Career Cruising Course Planner function and additional materials to assist students with this process have been distributed today in Homeroom.In addition Guidance counsellors will be visiting classes early next week –
Grade 9 classes in Period 1
Grade 10 classes in Period 4
Grade 11 classes in Period 3
Grade 12 classes in Period 1 (conversation regarding next steps in the university and college application cycle)
Guidance will also be in Room 11 (Computer Lab) during the lunch hour to assist students on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. If there are questions regarding this process students are encouraged to speak with Guidance.

Immunization Clinic

The immunization clinic that was supposed to take place on Wednesday, February 5th has been re-scheduled for February 19th from 9-11 at our school. Students will have an opportunity to receive mandatory vaccines at that time. In addition, Grade 12 students may also choose to receive Menactra. Students are to bring the completed consent forms with them to the clinic. There will also be consent forms on hand if required. Public Health has advised that parents and students should discuss vaccination requirements, benefits, risks, etc…in advance of the immunizations.

Photo Day for New Students to KCSS

Photo Day has been rescheduled to Tuesday, February 18th.

School Council Dates

All Parents / Guardians are welcome. The next meetings will be Tuesday, Feb. 25th, Monday, April 7th, Tuesday, May 6th and Monday June 9th.

K.C.S.S. Yearbooks

Yearbooks will be sold for $40 each. Students can purchase their yearbooks next week in the Front Foyer. Cash or cheque is acceptable.

School Day Pilot

We are happy to share with you that King City S.S. is one of four schools across York Region that has been selected to participate in a pilot program with School-Day. School-Day is a web portal that allows parents/guardians to register their children for school events online; complete online payments for school events and products; and approve permission forms. You will also have access to the history of all your activity using School-Day.
