Required successful completion (77%, 2.0) of the first quarter of Practical Nursing Program. Co-requisites: Concurrent enrollment in NUR 127 and NUR 131
Course Description:
This course includes laboratory content which is linked to the clinical course NUR 131 and theory course NUR 127. The laboratory classes are designed to provide skills and knowledge at an entry level of practice.

Upon successful completion of this course the student should be able to:
1. Demonstrate competency in basic skills essential to safe management of patient care utilizing appropriate technology.
2. Demonstrate competency in date gathering, contributing to problem-identification, planning implementing nursing care and contributing to evaluation within a variety of settings utilizing appropriate technology.

1.  Review Basic Nursing Procedures
2.  Respiratory Assessment, oxygen therapy, tracheostomy Intervention and associated pharmacology
3.  Cardiovascular Assessment, Interventions and associated pharmacology
4.  Orthopedic Assessment and Interventions
5.  Gastrointestinal, (various tubes) genitourinary and gynecological assessment, intervention and associated pharmacology.
6.  Effects of Diabetes assessment & intervention
