SUPPORT 10 is designed to help students develop and improve skills and to provide remediation as needed. Teachers work with students on an individual basis following IEP goals.

Students will receive help with assignments related to their curriculum in their content classes.

Students will also complete activities designed to improve study skills.

SUPPORT 10 does not provide enough time to get all outside work completed, so students will need to complete assignments at home as well as receiving help in SUPPORT 10. Although we will review assignments given in class, there is a great deal of work that students must complete outside of class to be successful.

** SUPPORT 10 IS NOT STUDY HALL – ATTENDANCE IS REQUIRED.

** SUPPORT 10 IS NOT INTENDED TO GET HOMEWORK COMPLETED.

Evaluation of SUPPORT 10 will be based upon attendance, work habits and social interactions, and will be designated a score of Satisfactory, or Unsatisfactory on the student’s five week progress report & ten week report card. In addition, IEP Progress Updates will be mailed home.

A successful school experience requires active student participation and cooperation. Regular school and class attendance is essential for positive student achievement. We ask all parents and guardians to help ensure that your student attends school on a regular basis. Lateness & Class Cuts will be referred to an administrator, as per school policy.

In addition, students are expected to:

  • Respect other students and teacher. No put downs, threats or foul language. In turn, each student can expect to be treated with respect.
  • Be on time to class
  • Come prepared everyday. Bring a pen, pencil, notebooks, and any other necessary text book(s), and a willingness to work.
  • Write all assignments in a notebook, planner, or weekly assignment sheet.
  • Keep all notes organized in a binder or notebook.

My goal is for each student to have a successful and enjoyable school year. The support can be a valuable asset to a student’s educational program. I hope you will encourage your child to use this class wisely.

Sincerely,

Ms. Laff
