COURSE DESCRIPTION / The Incident Command System (ICS) is the national standard to manage emergency incidents and critical events, and is a key component of NIMS. This course is expands upon the information covered in ICS 100, ICS 200, and ICS 300 courses and is for personnel who require advanced application of the Incident Command System. The course will satisfy state training requirements for incident responders.
COURSE OBJECTIVES / ·  Explain how major incidents pose special management challenges
·  Describe the circumstances in which an Area Command is established
·  Describe the circumstances in which multiagency coordination systems are established
PREREQUISITES / Introduction to NIMS IS 700
Introduction to NRF IS 800
Introduction to NIMS ICS IS 100
Basic Incident Command NIMS ICS 200
Intermediate ICS for Expanding Incidents NIMS ICS 300
TARGET
AUDIENCE / As part of NIMS compliance requirements, the primary audience for this course is senior response personnel, regardless of discipline, who are expected to perform in the management capacity in an Incident Command, Area Command or Multiagency Coordination (MAC) and be required to fill a role as Incident Commander, Command Staff or General Staff within the Incident Command System during larger incidents. These groups include first responders, state/local government and agencies, emergency management personnel, Non-Governmental Organizations, private sector businesses and local civic organizations.

COST/MEALS / The training and course materials are provided at no cost to the state, local organization or responder. Funding for travel, accommodations, and meals are not provided for this training opportunity.
