Course Description:
Join us for a stimulating on-demand program leading to IM Home Certification (IMHC). IM Home is an expansion of the Interactive Metronome, a cutting-edge neurological assessment and treatment tool that is redefining traditional expectations for pediatric and adult therapy outcomes. IM Home provides solutions for clients, families, and professionals by making IM training more flexible, accessible, & affordable. An important part of the IM System, the IM Home allows for clients who will derive additional benefit to continue IM training beyond discharge due to the limited number of therapy visits approved by insurance or limited resources. Clients who cannot be seen in the clinic setting with enough frequency to make a significant difference can supplement their IM training in the clinic with sessions at home under the supervision and guidance of their provider. Multiple family members can train using the same IM Home unit, making this a more accessible & affordable option when it is determined that more than one family member will benefit from IM training.

Upon completion of this course, participants will be fully certified in IM Home and will demonstrate working knowledge of both the technical and clinical applications of IM Home. Participants will confidently select appropriate candidates for IM-Home training, develop individualized virtual treatment plans that are synchronized to clients’ computers when they log in, analyze detailed session data and client comments following completion of IM Home training sessions, troubleshoot and adapt training plans based upon individual needs, and send/receive messages to guide the treatment process. Participants will learn how to teach clients to view their own performance results to better track progress and to communicate effectively with the provider via eClinic to facilitate care.

This course is offered only to fully certified IM Providers. Participants must have completed both the basic Interactive Metronome Certification Course and intermediate Clinical Certification Coaching (a mandatory competency training) to be eligible for this course.

*This course is currently undergoing a time pilot and peer review to determine whether it may be offered for ASHA CEUs and to determine the CEU amount. SLPs who participate in the time pilot may retroactively be eligible for ASHA CEUs pending course approval.
