Lucid
What is Lucid?
Lucidchart is a diagramming tool, similar to Inspiration, that’s built for fast and easy diagram creation online. Documents can be easily shared among a group and edited simultaneously, making Lucidchart ideal for group projects and student-teacher collaboration.
How do I get started?
Utah teachers can make accounts for FREE either through google apps or by making an account as an educator.
●Go to:
●Pick the appropriate selection under “Setup Overview”. Follow the steps.
●If you used your gmail account, you can now access Lucid by clicking on the “Apps” and clicking “more”
●Once you are in Lucid you can create and import files into “My Documents” and “Shared Documents”
Basics of how to work the program
●Drag boxes from the toolbar on the left to insert shapes. You can type in the text of the shape.
●Click and drag from one box to another box to make a connecting arrow.
●Double click on an arrow to add text on the arrow
●Change fonts / colors / etc by selecting text and using the tool bar at the top
●To add an image
○Use the “Google” search at the top left to search for an image. Drag the image onto the Canvas.
○Upload your own image by using the “User Images” on the bottom left and clicking the + button
●Sharethe document with students, parents, teachers, etc by clicking “Share” on the top right of the screen.
○You can share via listing email addresses or by generating a link to give to others
○You can control whether those you share it with can edit the document, make comments, etc
Practicing with Lucid
I started a concept map comparing the objects in the universe (6th Grade Core, Standard 3, Objective 1) for you to play with.

●Make the following additions / edits to the concept map
○Add a box with some text (such as information about an object, etc)
○Connect your box to the appropriate other box(es)
○Add an image
○Change the color / font / etc of some text

○Can make an interactive and printable timeline
○Allows you to add images, text, etc at selected positions along a timeline
