DIVISION UPDATES – April 2012
· Carnival registration information is available to FO/FI’s on the NJ Portal. The list includes Amusements of America, Branchwater Productions, Camy’s Amusements, Majestic Midways, McCafferty, McDaniel Brothers, Skelly’s Amusements & Zerbini Family Circus. Information includes carnival itinerary, diagrams and insurance documents.
· DFS NFIRS Unit would like to remind all fire departments to have their 2011 files submitted to the State on or before April 9th in order to be included in the annual report “Fire in New Jersey – 2011”.
· LEA’s may find their 2012 Anticipated Revenue on the NJ Portal at: http://fs6.formsite.com/dca_dfs/2012_Anticipated_Revenue/index.html
· PEOSH representatives will be providing information on what PEOSH Enforcement is looking for when they inspect fire departments. There are five sessions being conducted at various locations and last approximately 2 to 2.5 hours. Registration will be conducted only through email. · The Spring 2012 semester course registration will begin March 1st, all web based registration. The brochure is available for download from our web site at www.state.nj.us/dca/divisions/dfs and at www.keanfiresafety.com.
· The Fire Department Instructors Conference (FDIC) will be held on April 16th – 21st 2012 at the Indiana Convention Center and Lucas Oil Stadium, Indianapolis, IN. For more information please go to: http://www.fdic.com/register.html.
· The 9th Annual Homeland Security & Fire Safety Conference will be held on June 14th, at Downs Hall & Wilkins Theatre, Kean University, Union, NJ.
· There are several ICC National Certification Examinations and FEE66 Fire Inspector I Based on 2006 International Codes testing for new inspectors scheduled. The next tests will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2012, 8AM at the Morris County Firefighter and Police Training Academy, 500 West Hanover Avenue, Parsippany, NJ 07950, and the site code is 5179. Deadline to register is April 27, 2012. Saturday, September 8, 2012, 8AM at the Middlesex County Fire Academy, 1001 Fire Academy Drive, Sayreville, NJ 08872, and the site code is 5185. Deadline to register is July 27, 2012. Saturday, December 8, 2012, 8AM at the Ocean County Fire and EMS Training Center, 200 Volunteer Way, Waretown, NJ 08758, and the site code is 5186.
