Who can come to Camp?

Is there a lower age limit for Brownies?

No - all Brownies are invited subject to you having enough Leaders to meet ratios.

What will Senior Section members being doing at County Camp?

There will be a programme of activities for Senior Section members.

Can Young Leaders camp with their Brownie / Guide Unit?

Young Leaders who are not members of a Ranger unit can camp with their Brownie or Guide Unit but will be able to take part in the Senior Section Programme during the day.

Can Leaders come without a Unit?

If you would like to attend County Camp to gain experience you are welcome to come along. It would be advisable to speak to other Leaders in your District and camp with them.

Can you remind me how much it costs?

£100 per Brownie / Guide / Young Leader or Senior Section member

£30 per Leader to cover cost of meals

Travel costs not included – how do we get there?

Each unit is responsible for making their own arrangements to get to Bradley Wood.

Bradley Wood is a large site but the entrance / car park can easily get congested.

It is advised that rather than parents dropping girls at Bradley Wood (although we are not saying this is not allowed) that units consider using mini buses / coaches. Districts or Divisions could look at units sharing.

What activities are available?
Bradley Wood offers - Climbing / bouldering wall, archery, cresta run, high and low ropes, slack lining, cave bus. Depending on numbers attending camp it will depend on how many activities girls will get the opportunity to complete. In addition we will be offering some crafts and camping skills.

I don’t have a Going Away with Licence – can I still come?

You do not need a qualification for this camp, but you will need to ensure that ratios are met within your unit.

I have access to camp equipment but have never camped with my unit and will probably need some help and advice.

Please let us know when you book and we will pair you up with another unit. One thought we have is to pair up Brownie Units with Guide Units who have experience of going to camp.

What camp equipment will I need?

You will need tents – enough for Leaders and girls. If you are struggling to get hold of tents please get in touch asap.

This event will be centrally catered with meals being provided to sub camps, you will still need some catering equipment to keep food warm and make a hot drink. Although the menu isn’t finalised yet you may be required to cook some pasta or rice to go with your main meal.

We have tents but no catering equipment – what do we do?

Let us know when you book and we will look at pairing you up with a unit where you will be able to share equipment.

I have arranged to share equipment with another Unit in my District can you make sure I’m on the same sub camp as them please?

Let us know when you book which Unit you are sharing with and we make sure this happens.

I don’t have enough Leaders to meet ratios for the girls in my unit.

Have you looked at pairing up with another unit in your District.

How about asking Rainbow Leaders if they would like to come with you?

Will there be a badge for this event?

A County event badge will be produced. There is also an onsite shop at Bradley Wood where girls / units are able to purchase a Bradley Wood badge.

Will there be a closed Facebook Group for those attending County Camp to ask questions?

Although this has its benefits, we have decided not to open a Facebook group for a number of reasons.

Any questions should be directed to Emma Chester ()
