August 10th minutes were approved, Wilbur made motioned, Stan seconded.

August 2014 Treasure’s report received with no questions.

Pastor Report:

51 visits this pass month, Confirmation classes starting 9.17.14 with 6 children attending 4-- 8th grade, 2-- 7th graders,60 attendees for Wed, Pastor is writing an article for the September Newsletter about 10:30 worship service changes.

Startup churches- Lutheran’s Lutheran in Albemarle and Advent in King’s Mountain

Old timey stew moved to 10/11/14 from 10/4/14

Food for thought- will assist again in 2015

Pastor Lura, Dick Smith and Alan Beaver are going to LCMC the weekend of October 6th &7th 2014

Selection Committee recommends Katie Curlee for Youth Director’s job by a unanimous secret ballot.

Personnel Committee makes recommendation of a benefit package for Youth Director’s position.

Finance Committee proposed a range for wage and benefits.

Jimmy Deal motioned and Ben Bernhardt seconded that Katie Curlee be the new Youth Director for St. Paul’s Lutheran church.

Discussion on what makes Katie the best choice for our Youth Director.

Council voted unanimous to offer the St. Paul’s Youth Director Position to Katie Curlee.

A discussion of annual wage and how that compares to an hourly rate using 2080 hours per year, results are below in order of annual wage vs. hourly rate,

Council directed President Perry Bernhardt and Alan Beaver to make an annual salary offer in the range of $25,000 to $35,000

Paul Canup motioned that we accept the Finance Committee’s proposal dated 9/7/2014 revised by council, Terry Eller seconded, council voted in favor, 16, opposed 2 – Motion carries

Discussion of Jared Gordon Music Director receiving an increase in annual salary, Jared’s currently annualsalary is $17,500.00Discussion held about Jared’s contribution, results and compensation.

Jared currently working 20 hours a week

We need to find an amount that reflects the growth Jared has created in our music ministry.Discussion to increase Jared’s pay immediately to $20,000. Then review in November for an increase to go into effect January 1st 2015.

Brent Monroe motioned that Jared’s pay be increased after Katie accepts the position, Stan McConnell seconded council approved unanimously.

Proposal for council members to be a part of the committee chair meeting on Sunday, Sept 21 at 6:00.

Change made to offering, plates are brought down to the workroom and locked, until the Financial Secretary can come down pick up the money in the collection plates.

Property Committee has asked for permission to give the chairs and old hymnals to a mission committee. Alison Moore motioned that the council accept the proposal, Alan Beaver seconded, All were in favor.

Property committee-- Ben Bernhardt motioned that the property committee have the ability to build wireless datapoints throughout the church system, Brent Monroe seconded, All were in favor.

Property Committee has had AE Global Media, to assess the sound system.

$2500 for retainer fee, the will be $38,000 to $60,000. This group has done Christ Lutheran and several of the larger churches in the area. This will include maintenance on the system. Terry Eller motioned to take $2500 from Improvement Fund for the retainer fee to initiate design services for a newsound system. Alan Beaver seconded. All were in favor.

Alan Beaver mentioned discussion he has had with a church member about concern of the benevolence we share with Resurrection Teaching Ministries.
