RECOMMENDATION:

That the City Council, by Motion, approve the Agreement for Acquisition of Mobile Home and Improvements (Escrow Instructions) for one mobile home located at 1835South Manchester Avenue, Space No. 67, authorize the Mayor and City Clerk to execute the Agreement and authorize the acquisition payment of $8,950.00 to the Plantation Mobile Estates.

DISCUSSION:

The Department of Public Works is in the process of acquiring right-of-way due to the Gene Autry Way (West)/I-5 Freeway HOV Interchange and Highway Project(s). A portion of the property located at 1835 South Manchester Avenue is being acquired and 27 mobile home units are impacted by the acquisition. This agreement is for the acquisition of the mobile home unit located at Space No. 67.

The project(s) consists of constructing a new six lane roadway (three lanes in each direction), from the bridge abutment at the I-5 Freeway HOV Interchange to Haster Street. The Gene Autry Way (West)/I-5 Freeway HOV Interchange and Highway Project(s) serve as a Primary east/west Arterial Highway, a commuter link to the I5Freeway between the Anaheim Resort and the Stadium Area in the City of Anaheim.

The proposed new roadway is included in the Circulation Element of the City of Anaheim General Plan. The project is in conformance with the previously approved Final Environmental Impact Report/Environmental Assessment Finding of no Significant Impact. The owners have agreed to the total purchase price of $8,950.00, which is based on fair market value.

IMPACT ON BUDGET:

There is no impact on the General Fund. Funds have been allocated in Capital Improvement Program K825.

Respectfully submitted,

Natalie Meeks

Director of Public Works
