Corporate Partnerships Officer

Job Description

The Corporate Partnerships Officer is responsible for researching, identifying and engaging potential corporate partners, making applications for small-medium funding, and working with the Corporate Partnerships Manager and Corporate Partnerships Fundraiser to deliver outstanding supporter service to our corporate partners.

At the heart of the Charity’s fundraising strategy is a commitment to excellent supporter care and high quality relationships. The successful applicant will have a natural ability to recognise partnership opportunities and the essential first steps in starting a supporter journey.

In addition, the Corporate Partnerships Officerwill be responsible for the creation and maintenance of up to date partner records and ensure that potential partners meet our ethical and social responsibility guidelines

A proactive approach to seeking our new opportunities, converting leads into established long term supporters and helping the Corporate Partnership Manager to grow income is essential.

The Role

The post reports to the Corporate Partnerships Manager.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Responsible for the research of corporate partners and confirmation of prospects, including:
  2. Working closely with the fundraising department to generate and verify accurate leads and contacts
  3. Identifying new prospects, researching contacts and corporations to ensure they meet the Charity’s ethical and social responsibility guidelines.
  4. Provide recommendations and ideas for making initial contact
  1. Supporting the Manager and Fundraiser to steward and grow relationships with existing corporate supporters, including those within the corporate membership scheme
  2. Responsibility for correct contact details, background information and updates on areas of interest
  3. Support the team to develop meaningful relationships and partnerships with contacts at corporate partners, and support colleagues in developing best practice in partnership development.
  1. Assistwith the development of compelling written materials including propositions and cases for support to deliver a range of opportunities including sponsorship, Charity of the Year (COTY) and other ways of supporting the charity.
  1. Support the implementation of a new CRM system, transfer of records and on-going cleansing and maintenance of corporate record to maintain excellent stewardship and to give the charity a greater return on investment in the long term.
  1. Be aware of trends affecting the charity marketplace for donor recruitment activity and stewardship in general, identifying changes, predicting future trends and implications, and making recommendations as necessary.
  1. Provide administrative support to major donor team to support annual and special events.
  1. To undertake other tasks and duties as may reasonably be requested including attendance at events, travel to UK-wide meetings.
  1. Participate proactively and enthusiastically as a member of the charity’s fundraising team, bring ideas, innovation and commitment to the team.

Essential

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and a strong commitment to networking
  • A proactive approach and ability to use own initiative
  • Strong IT skills, including knowledge of Microsoft packages and the use of databases
  • Knowledge of maintaining a contact database
  • Good presentation skills
  • Strong administrative, organisational and time management skills including the ability to work to deadlines
  • Excellent written communication skills and good attention to detail
  • Numerate and financially astute
  • Enthusiasm and ability to work as part of a committed team including cross functionally
  • The postholder should be well presented and understand the importance of looking professional
  • Availability to attend evening or weekend events

Desirable

  • Specialist knowledge of a CRM package
  • Experience of developing cases for support
  • Experience of Raisers Edge or similar database
  • Interest in health-related issues
  • Educated to Degree level
