- Enable young people to take an active role in cultural development through influencing the programmes of organisations, town/community councils, venues, networks and festivals
- Enable young people to host and promote work that they have programmed or created
- Provide a route for young people to be commissioned to programme work, festivals, presentations and events
- Develop active communication channels for young people by young people that promotes these opportunities
Since April three groups have already been established in Bodmin, Penzance and Truro. A core group of young people driving the scheme and have visited the Edinburgh festival. They are in negotiation to bring two pieces of theatre to Cornwall. They have also helped to promote a young people’s theatre company and some youth music events.

Jinga Communities
Jinga Communities presents an Afro-Brazilian music workshop for KS3&4 using music and rhythms from capoeira and samba. Capoeira (the slave dance/fight) uses African percussion instruments, voice and the one-stringed bow-like instrument (berimbau). Capoeira players perform their fight/dance in a circle of musicians and percussionists. Much like its sister art form (samba) capoeira invokes energy, freedom and empowerment. Jinga Communities instructors will perform music from the streets of Brazil. This is first for Cornwall.
