PEARLAND ARTS LEAGUE call to artists for June 1 to June 25, 2011 Corks and Canvas themed show “Diversity in Art – Abstract & Urban celebrating Diversity Throughout Our City at the Pearland Parks and Recreation Department 4141 Bailey Road Pearland, Texas. Featuring the Harpist Elizabeth Brownlee.

SHOW OPENING & RECEPTION: SATURDAY, JUNE 4 5:00 pm- 7:00 pm

THEME OF SHOW: “DIVERSITY IN ART – ABSTRACT & URBAN”

SIZE OF ARTWORK REQUIREMENT: No 3D work unless it can be framed and hung.

MEDIUM REQUIREMENTS: Paintings, Drawings, Mixed Media

ART HANGING REQUIREMENTS: The show will be hung by each individual artist under the directions of the chairperson. All art must be wired ready to hang. No saw tooth brackets allowed. Installed wire on the back of the artwork APPROX.1/4 from the top of the frame or wrapped canvas wood frame. Wire may not extend above the frame or canvas frame of the piece. All artists must test their wire installation at their home to make sure their work hangs flat against the wall. No work may extend out from the wall. Please check and comply!

TAKE DOWN OF ART:SATURDAY, JUNE 25, 2011 3-5 PM

FEES AND COMMISSION REQUIREMENTS: No fees or membership requirement FOR THIS SHOW. All artwork may be offered for sale. PLEASE submit sale information to Chairman of show. Be present for reception and honor the requests of PAL.

Since there are no fees or commission charged to the individual artist the Pearland Arts League requests that ALL artists provide FOOD and BEVERAGES, preferably WINE and HORS D’OEUVRES to serve to the attendees of the reception.
