(IMMERSION PROCESSION OF BHAGWAN VISHWAKARMA)

On 19th September 2009 immersion procession of Idols of Bhagwan Vishwakarma will be taken out from the area of Karol Bagh. The route of these processions will be as under: -

a) SUBARNA DURGA PUJA SAMITY

START AT 1.00 PM FROM HARDHYAN SINGH ROAD (RAVI DAS ROAD), REGHAR PURA AND WILL PROCEED VIA GANGA MANDIR MARG – D.B.G. ROAD – EAST PARK ROAD – FILMISTAN – AZAD MARKET – BURF KHANA – TIS HAZARI AND TERMINATE AT GEETA GHAT, YAMUNA RIVER.

b) BEADONPURA DURGA PUJA SAMITI, KAROL BAGH, NEW DELHI

START AT 12.00 NOON FROM PYARE LAL ROAD, VISHNU MANDIR MARG – D.B.G. ROAD – EAST PARK ROAD – FILMISTAN – AZAD MARKET CHOWK – BURF KHANA – TIS HAZARI – ISBT – CHANDGI RAM AKHARA – VISARJAN GHAT AT YAMUNA RIVER.

c) DELHI SWARANKAR SANGH, REGHER PURA, KAROL BAGH, NEW DELHI.

START AT 2.30 PM FROM PYARE LAL ROAD – VISHNU MANDIR MARG – LANE NO. 5,6, REGHAR PURA – SARASWATI MARG – D.B.G. ROAD –EAST PARK ROAD – FILMISTAN – AZAD MARKET – BURF KHANA – TIS HAZARI – ISBT AND TERMINATE AT GEETA GHAT, YAMUNA RIVER.

These processions will start lining up around 1200 hrs at the stipulated places and thereafter around 1400 hrs will start together for their final destination.

The processionists will only be in Tempos. There is no pedestrian movement, the movement will be restricted to vehicles only. As per the movement of the processions the following routes are likely to bear the burden of extra traffic: -

1. Vishnu Mandir Marg

2. DBG Road

3. Faiz Road

4. Rohtak Road

5. Rani Jhansi Road

6. Azad Market Chowk

7. Burf Khana Chowk

8. Boulevard Road

9. Ring Road near ISBT to Wazirabad bridge

Elaborate traffic arrangements have been laid down for regulation, diversion and stoppage of traffic along the route of the procession. General Public and motorists must follow the directions given by the Traffic Police deployed along the route and plan their journey accordingly so that they avoid in convenience.

PROCLAIMED OFFENDER POSING AS SADHU ARRESTED

One Raj Singh @ Rajendra @ Shiti @ Vidhi Baba @ Raj Giri Oghad Nath r/o Prakash Mohalla, Garhi, New Delhi has been arrested by the police personnel of PS Amar Colony of South East Distt., who was declared proclaimed offender in two cases of PS Kalkaji and was involved in 7 other cases of Robbery, Dacoity, Burglary and Arms Act registered in South and South-East District, New Delhi

On 17.09.09, acting on information that one person posing as Sadhu is presently residing near Kalka Ji Mandir in front of Funeral Ground (Shamshan Ghat), who is a proclaimed offender, a team comprising HC Ram Hari Pathak, Constable Vinod Kumar and Constable N. Krishnan formed under the supervision of Insp. S.P. Gupta SHO/Amar colony. They apprehended Shri Raj Singh @ Rajendra @ Shiti @ Vidhi Baba @ Raj Giri Oghad Nath from Kalkaji Mandir who has been found involved in many cases of Robbery, Dacoity, Burglary and Arms Act. He has also been found declared Proclaimed Offender in case FIR No. 413/86 dated 24.03.86 u/s 399/402 IPC PS Kalka JI and FIR No. 415/86 dated 24.03.86 u/s 25 Arms Act, PS Kalkaji from the Hon’ble Court of Shri R. C. Chopra, ASJ, Patial Hopuse Corts, New Delhi on 01.05.97. He has been concealing himself posing as Sadhu Baba and duping unsuspecting people who come to the area.

On 13.9.2008 incidents of serial blasts took place at Gaffar Market, Karol Bagh, Central Market, Connaught Place, Barakhamba Road and Greater Kailash, Delhi. On 19.9.2008, on specific information, a team of Special Cell led by Inspector Mohan Chand Sharma raided flat No.108, L-18, Batla House, P.S. Jamia Nagar, New Delhi wherein the occupants present in the flat opened fire on the raiding party. During cross fire, Inspector Mohan Chand Sharma sustained gunshot injuries and succumbed to his injuries. He was posthumously conferred the most prestigious Ashok Chakra for his valour and sacrifice.

On 14.9.2009, some sections of media has reported that Batla hero’s family, nearly nine months after the incident, is still waiting for the cash component and monthly pension associated with the Ashok Chakra award. Award of Ashok Chakra has a monthly pension of Rs. 2800/-. The arrears of the pension with effect from September, 2008 have been paid to the family of Late Inspector Mohan Chand Sharma through a cheque dated 30.6.2009 . This monthly pension is now being paid to his family on a regular basis. Further the newspaper has reported that the Rs. 25 lakhs cash is also due to them as part of the award. On the issue regarding the grant of Rs. 25 lakhs as one time payment Smt. Maya Sharma had applied to the Delhi Government and the same is being processed there. The matter is being pursued on day to day basis.

Delhi police has always rendered helpful hand to its employees who had made supreme sacrifice in the line of duty. All other dues as detailed below were paid to the family of Late Inspr. M.C Sharma long ago.
