The water still electric circuit components 13 are located in the base bottom part. The MODE green warning LED, ALARM red warning LED and water still POWER ON / OFF switch fitted with backlight are located on the water still base front panel.

4.1. When the water distiller is switched ON using the POWER switch (this switch is lit in the ON position), the raw water supply valve 21 is activated (Figure 1). As soon as the evaporator water level reaches the bottom sensor 9, the automatic device switches the heaters 17 ON.

4.2. The operation mode is achieved maximum in 15 min in the case of the Liston A 1104 water still and maximum in 30 min in the case of the Liston A 1110 and Liston A 1125 water stills.

4.3. When water boils in the evaporator 2, steam forms, than separated and enters in the condenser 6 via the channel 5. The separator consists of the steam floe splitter 3 and the nozzle 4 located inside the channel 5.

4.4. Steam condenses in the condenser walls and heat exchanger 19 with the formation of distilled water. The evaporator water level is maintained automatically by means of the equalizer 7 due to the water overflow in the drain pipe of the equalizer 18.

4.5.The condenser 6 housing is simultaneously a distilled water collector.

4.6.Distilled water can be produced in the continuous mode, with the collector 6 unused byflowing distillate in other containers via the drain tap 28 (Figure 2) located on the front panel.

  1. Water distiller with built in tank electric circuit diagram
  2. The water distiller is connected to the mains using an input circuit breaker BA (Figure 3, Figure 4) to be installed by the Customer and intended for the overload / short circuit protection of electric circuits having a voltage of up to 500 VAC, operative switching ON / OFF of these circuits; it is selected by the 10·In overcurrent tripping setting (where In is a rated current).

Figure 3. Electric circuit diagram of the Liston A 1104 electric water distiller

Figure 4. Electric circuit diagram of the Liston A 1110, Liston A 1125 water distillers (ЕК2, ЕК4 and ЕК6 heaters are intended for the Liston A 1125 only).

5.2. The water distiller is started by setting the S1 toggle switch to ON, at the same time the switch LED (POWER) is lit and supply voltage is applied to the A1 automatic device PCB that activates the Y1 inlet valve (Pos. 21 in Figure 1), at the same time the MODE red LED is lit (HL1 LED).

5.3. When the water level in the evaporator 2 (Figure 1) reaches the bottom sensor 9 (the LOW contact in Figures 3 and 4), the KM1.1 starter is activated and voltage is applied to the EK heaters.

5.4. When the evaporator water level lowers below the admissible level (below the sensor 9 level) the automatic device switches the heater OFF.

5.5. The KK1 thermal switch contact ensures an additional emergency shutdown of the water still in the case of water level lowering and the heater temperature rise over 150˚С.

5.6. When the distillate collector is filled up to the level sensor 11 (Figure 1) (the HIGH contact in Figures 3 and 4), the automatic device stops heating water and shuts the Y1 water supply inlet valve off. The MODE green LED (HL1) goes out. When distillate is drained from the collector, the automatic device opens the Y1 inlet valve and activates water heating, at the same time the MODE LED is lit (HL1 LED).

5.7. When water overflows in the evaporator 2 (Figure 1) or equalizer 7, the water level reaches the top level control sensor in the evaporator 7 or level sensor in the equalizer 24 (ALARM contact in Figures 3 and 4), the automatic device switches the heater and inlet valve OFF and the FAILURE led (HL2) is lit. To continue the operation you should switch the S1 power switch OFF (POWER), eliminate the cause of overflow and switch the S1 switch (POWER) ON.

5.8. Upon completion of operation you should cut the water distiller of the mains. Switch the S1 toggle switch (POWER) off and BA input circuit breaker.

  1. Water distiller without built in tank design and principle of operation

Figure 5 shows the design of the Liston A 1204 and Liston A 1210 (the structure component view is schematic not taking into consideration features of the water stills):

Figure 5. The design of the Liston A 1204, Liston A 1210electric water distillers, where:

1 – Housing 7 –Water inlet pipe

2 – POWER switch 8 – Fitting

3 – Electric heater 9 – Nozzle

4 – Protective thermostat sensor 10 – Evaporator

5 – Distillate drain pipe 11 – Rubber gasket

6 – Condenser 12 – Cooling water drain pipe

13 – Thermostat
14 – Evaporator draining pipe (for cleaning)

6.1. Prior to the start of the water still, it should be connected to the water supply system through the pipe 7 (Figure 5) and you should wait until water runs from the cooling water drain pipe 12, to which the cooling water removal hose is connected. The nozzle 9 automatically controls the water flow rate.

6.2. When the power switch 2 is switched ON (the switch is lit when in ON position), the automatic device switched the electric heater 3 and raw water is fed to the evaporator via the pipe 7.

6.3. Raw water boils in the evaporator 10, steam forms and is separated and fed into the condenser 6. Steam condenses on the condenser walls and in the heat exchanger with formation of distilled water. The equalizer maintains the water level in the evaporator due to water overflow in the drain pipe

6.4. Distillate flows out through the distillate drain pipe 5. Additional containers should be used to collect distillate.

  1. Before installation

Installation of the equipment must be done only by qualified personnel and only after reading operating manual

7.1.The water distillers are designed for table mounting and should be placed on a solid and flat surface. Use level and adjustable foots (for Liston A 1110 and Liston A 1125) to place water distiller.

7.2.Water distillers should be installed in rooms with water supply system, water supply control valve, sewage system, electric network (single-phase alternate current network with a rated voltage of 220-240 VAC for the Liston A 1104, Liston A 1204 and three-phase alternate current network with a rated voltage of 380-400 VAC for the Liston A 1110, Liston A 1125 and Liston A 1210 and grounding.Do not use the water distillers without connecting its grounding terminal to the protective grounding bus

7.3.During the operation, the water distiller produces gases, as well as steam and heat from raw water, because of this it is reasonable to have sufficient natural ventilation or exhaust ventilation in the premises.

7.4. Raw water incoming pressure should be 0.15-0.5 MPa. Otherwise, the stable water distiller operation is not guaranteed.

7.5. Prior to the connection of the water distiller to mains, check visually the cord, plug and socket for failures.

  1. Water distiller with built in tank installation
  2. Attach the fitting with 1/2'' male thread through the sealing tape to the tap 28 (Figure 2). Connect the silicone tube to the fitting and attach a plastic tie
  3. Attach the fitting with 1/2'' male thread through the sealing tape to the tap 27 (Figure 2).
  4. Connect the drain hoses, one to the fitting 26 for the cooling water drain (Figure 2) and another to the tap fitting 27 for the wastewater drain from the evaporator. Tighten the connections of hoses and fittings with the clamps supplied.
  5. IMPORTANT! The hose for the cooling water drain from the fitting 26 (Figure 2) should be located at a slant and it must not have any twists and kinks. If necessary, shorten the hose. The level difference between the fitting 26 and the location of the hose connection to the sewage system should be at least 0.3 m. The hose should not abut against the internal sewage pipe wall.
  6. Otherwise, the water level in the evaporator 2 (Figure 1) and equalizer 7 begins to rise and reaches the top level sensor 23 or level sensor 24 and the automatic device will stop the water still and the ALARM red LED will be lit).
  7. Install gaskets in the filling hose nuts.
  8. Connect the filling hose to the fitting 25 (Figure 2).
  9. Connect the filling hose to the water supply system through a valve or a ball valve.
  10. Check, that the bottom level sensor 9 (Figure 1) does not contact the walls of the evaporator 2 and steam flow dissector 3. Otherwise, the heaters start to operate in the absence of a sufficient water level. This will cause an emergency shutdown of the water still due to the electric heater temperature rise above 150 °C.
  11. Check, that the distillate level sensor 11 (Figure 1) does not contact the walls of the condenser 6 and exchanger 19. Otherwise, the automatic device will assume that the collector is filled with distillate, turn off water heating, and shut the inlet water supply valve off.
  12. Check that the sensors 23 (Figure 1) and 24 do not contact the walls of the evaporator 2 and equalizer 7. Otherwise, the automatic device would assume that there was an overflow of water and turn off the water distiller, and the ALARM red LED will be lit.
  13. Before connecting to the mains, make sure that the voltage and power correspond with the information on the water distillers. The mains should be equipped with a circuit breaker in accordance with the water still power for a rated current of 20 A (Liston A 1104), 40 A (for Liston A 1110), and 100 A (Liston A 1125). The water still are connected to the mains using the mains input circuit breaker (Figure 6, Figure 7) to be installed by the consumer and intended for protection against overloads and short-circuits of electrical circuits having a voltage of 380-400 VAC, operative ON and OFF of these circuits.
  14. The BA circuit breaker is not supplied, should be purchased by the consumer and selected based on the calculation of the 10•In overcurrent tripping setting (where In is a rated current).
  15. Connect the water still grounding terminal to the PE bus with flexible copper wire at least 6 mm2 in cross section. Connect the external circuits to the power supply network in accordance with Figure 6 or Figure 7.
