Tron Theatre
Located in Glasgow’s Merchant City, Tron Theatre consists of the 230-seat Main Auditorium, the 62-seatChanging House studio, the Education Suite rehearsal and workshop space, the Victorian Bar event and dining space, dressing rooms, a ‘get-in’ area, café bar area, a box office and office accommodation for administration and production staff.
Tron Theatre is both a producing company and a receiving house. We aim to produce a number of Tron Theatre Company shows and occasional co-productions each year. We focus on new work and contemporary classic theatre whether through our own productions or visiting companies. The Tron is a cultural hub for local artists and much support is given to emerging theatre companies and the platforming of new projects. Tron Theatre Company occasionally tours work internationally.
Project Coordinator
The postholder will work in close collaboration with the Artistic Director and the Artistic Producer in developing and delivering agreed key activities within the Tron Theatre CREATIVE programme, with particular attention to the BUILD workshop and event programme and the associated professional membership MAKER.
Other current Tron Theatre CREATIVE activities include the ‘Mayfesto Award’, ‘LabWeek’, ‘Outside Eyes’ and ‘Table Read’. The programme provides meaningful support for Glasgow and Scotland based artists to develop work, experiment with ideas, network and interact with each other within the building. Such events make an important contribution to the ‘cultural hub’ aspect of the organisation as well as providing an essential creative resource for artists in Glasgow and beyond.
In collaboration with the Artistic Director, Executive Director, Programme Administrator and Bar & Catering Manager, the Project Coordinator is also responsible for contributing to the Tron Theatre programme, with particular focus on events in the Victorian Bar. Currently these events include Tron Community Choir, Sunday Jazz, Poetry Slams, Talks, and The Seven Song Club.

Main Duties
  • organize and coordinate Tron Theatre CREATIVE activities as agreed with the Artistic Producer.

  • coordinate the selection of work submitted for Tron Theatre CREATIVE activities.

  • coordinate the casting for Tron Theatre CREATIVE activities.

  • coordinate the recruitment and selection of MAKER members.

  • coordinate all communication with the MAKER members, including event updates and a regular newsletter

  • curate and programme the quarterly BUILD programme as agreed with the Artistic Producer

  • recruit appropriate industry personnel for BUILD workshops and events and communicate the programme to box office and members in a timely manner.

  • work with the Marketing Department in coordinating marketing and press support for Tron CREATIVE activities.

  • work closely with the Production Manager and the technical team in facilitating the necessary technical and stage management support for Tron Theatre CREATIVE events.

  • liaise with the Box Office and Front Of House Manager on Tron Theatre CREATIVE events.

  • work with the Artistic Producer in agreeing budgets for the relevant Tron Theatre CREATIVE projects, and maintaining up to date financial reconciliations against budgets for such events and reporting variations to the Artistic Producer.

  • collaborate with the Artistic Producer and other senior Tron Theatre staff in the programming of activities and events within the building (with particular attention to Victorian Bar activities and events)

  • Liaise internally to arrange technical support, marketing and box office/front of house arrangements for select events within the programme.

  • co-ordinate the budgets, invoices and contractual and administrative arrangements for projects in collaboration with the Artistic Producer, Executive Director and the Programme Administrator.

  • monitor and evaluate projects in collaboration with the Artistic Producer, Artistic Director, Executive Director and Programme Administrator.

  • regularly report to the Artistic Producer as well as contributing to stakeholder reports, appropriate grant applications and annual submissions.

  • explore, alongside other key staff – Artistic Producer, Artistic Director, Executive Director, and Business Development Manager – potential sources of funding and sponsorship for Tron Theatre CREATIVE activities and appropriate programme events.

General Duties
  • attend meetings, as required, including but not limited to staff, operations and diary meetings as well as programme, development and relevant production and marketing meetings.

  • use computer software to service the post’s administrative needs

  • attend external performances and showcases as required.

  • attend and engage with Tron Theatre events as required and to attend conferences and networking meetings as agreed with the Artistic Director and Artistic Producer.

  • undertake training as appropriate.

Terms and Conditions of Employment
Annual Salary / £21,000 – £24,000 (depending on experience).
Hours of Work / 28 hours (0.7 FTE).
Holiday Entitlement / 20 days per annum plus public holidays (the annual holiday entitlement of part-time staff is pro-rata to the entitlement for full-time employees).
Probationary Period / 3 months.
Notice Period / After probation period is complete you are required to give the Company 2 months’ notice to terminate your employment.
Pension / The Company operates an auto-enrolment pension scheme which is operated by Now Pensions. Full details will be provided on commencement.
Hours / Flexible to suit programme - attendance at performances, rehearsals and meetings out with office hours.
