OADBY OWLS MINI SOCCER FESTIVAL FOR U7’S

On Sunday 10th May 2015 Oadby Owls will be hosting an Under 7’s Festival of Football at our home ground of Coombe Park in Oadby. The age group will be based on players playing in this age group for the 2014/15 season.
The format for these age groups is in line with the current FA directive and therefore there can be no outright winner. Teams will be divided into groups and will play each other in a round robin format. It is anticipated that teams will play at least 5 matches. Every participating player in this age group will receive a tournament medal.
The tournament will be played to the normal 5 a-side mini soccer rules using Harrod metal framed 12’ x 6’ goals. The duration of the matches will be 12 minutes straight through. There is a squad limitation of 8 players and proof of age must be available for inspection as and when required. Entry is £30 per team.
It is desired that each of the six groups of 6 teams are of similar football ability. Winning or losing by a ‘cricket score’ achieves very little and in past seasons groups reflective of ability has proved a positive feature of the event. Managers are asked to provide a fair and balanced assessment of their teams’ ability of 1 (strongest), 2+, 2, 2- and 3
MJB First Aid Services will provide onsite professional care. Full refreshment facilities will also be available.
The closing date for applications is set as 1stMay 2015 and given the success of the club in hosting previous tournaments we expect considerable interest to be shown (last year there were 36 teams participating). Entries will be processed on a first come, first serve basis.
An acknowledgement confirming your entry will be sent to you on receipt of your application with further tournament information being sent out a week or so prior to the event.
