Article 1 - Health Guarantee/Veterinary Care

1.01 The COONOPRY cat/kitten named above is guaranteed to be in good health, free from internal and external parasites and fungus, clean, with claws clipped on all four paws at the time he leaves the Breeder's home for delivery to the New Owner(s). He has been examined by a licensed veterinarian at Carrier Animal Hospital 2405 S. Carrier Pkwy. Grand Prairie, TX 75051, (972-262-1581), within one month of delivery.

1.02 New Owner agrees to take the newly purchased COONOPRY Maine Coon cat/kitten to a licensed veterinarian of his choice for examination within 72 hours of delivery, excluding weekends/holidays, to confirm the cat/kitten's healthy condition. If any questionable condition is found, New Owner shall have said veterinarian call Dr. Kent Cooper (972-262-1581) immediately for consultation and shall notify Breeder immediately by phone and in writing. If possible, the cat/kitten shall be brought to Carrier Animal Hospital for examination, confirmation, and/or treatment of such condition.

1.03 Breeder will negotiate treatment or payment of vet bills for any infectious condition or internal parasites present in cat/kitten at time of delivery or manifesting itself within five days of delivery and verified in writing on letterhead by a licensed veterinarian after he/she has consulted with Dr. Cooper. Breeder is specifically NOT RESPONSIBLE for any other veterinary expenses incurred on behalf of this kitten by the New Owner(s).

1.03a If a genetic, congenital, or developmental fault (not caused by husbandry practices or accident) which is detrimental to the health or quality of life of the animal becomes apparent within three years of purchase, New Owner(s) must notify the Breeder in writing and by telephone, providing documentation by a licensed veterinarian. If at all possible, the cat/kitten will be brought to Breeder's veterinarian for consultation. Breeder feels this scenario is very unlikely, but wishes to outline procedures to be followed should it occur. Breeder is not liable for any vet bills other than this consultation with her own veterinarian.

1.03b If Breeder's veterinarian agrees, after examination of the kitten/cat or consultation with that kitten/cat/'s veterinarian, that a genetic, congenital, or developmental fault not caused by husbandry practices or accident, which is detrimental to the health or quality of life of the animal, exists in the cat/kitten, New Owner will return this kitten/cat to Breeder. Breeder will replace the kitten/cat with another kitten/cat of equal quality as soon as one is available from Breeder's own cattery or other mutually agreed-upon source. Alternatively, New Owner and Breeder may agree that the New Owner will keep this kitten/cat as a house pet but only if the condition does not cause pain or suffering. Breeder is not liable for any vet bills connected with any such genetic, congenital, or developmental fault. If New Owners decide to treat the condition, have surgery, or other wise obtain veterinary services, it will be at their own expense. . New Owner(s)' Initials: ______

1.04  This cat/kitten was examined by a licensed veterinarian at Carrier Animal Hospital at or within one day of birth, and at other times when needed. If any medical condition presented itself, the cat/kitten was examined and treated according to the veterinarian's recommendations. Vaccinations were given under the advice of a licensed veterinarian at ages 12 and 16 weeks.

1.05 Current veterinary opinion is that kittens need a third vaccination against four upper-respiratory diseases between 14 and 16 weeks of age to give the best protection for the first year of their life. The above-named cat/kitten NEEDS/RECEIVED this shot on ______. New Owner agrees to obtain this vaccination (if not already given) and appropriate boosters for the above-named cat/kitten for the rest of the cat/kitten's life..
