Topic: “Serotonin Transporter Gene Promoter Polymorphism and Early Adversity in Rhesus Macaques”

Objectives: At the conclusion of this presentation participants should be able: 1) Describe how gene-environment interactions determine vulnerability to stress in rhesus macaques, 2) Consider the sexually dichotomous nature of these interactions, and 3) Identify molecular players in the interaction between the serotonin transporter gene polymorphism and early adversity in rhesus macaques.

Topic: “Follow-up Outcome of Psychiatrically Hospitalized Adolescents:

What Happens to Bradley Patients After They are Discharged?”

Objectives: At the end of this presentation audience members will be able to: 1) Discuss the literature on long term outcomes of adolescents following discharge from psychiatric inpatient hospitalization, 2) Review treatment received in the community following discharge from psychiatric hospitalization, and 3) Identify predictors of good and poor course following hospitalization.
