New-look studies guide to hit homes this week

Registration for the Spring 2008 Continuing Education term begins April 7, with more than 500 courses available, including a multitude of new online and in-class offerings.

Information on the full-slate of Continuing Education courses is listed in the new Niagara College Continuing Education and Part Time Studies Guide, which will make its way into Niagara mailboxes this week. The new-look publication combines the Continuing Education listings with NiagaraCollege’s Fall 2008 full-time, post-graduate and apprenticeship programs.

Among the new Continuing Education offerings for Spring ’08 are a number of new online courses, including Managerial Accounting, Selling for Success, Writing a Marketing Plan, QuickBooks – Advanced, Global Positioning Systems, Internet Mapping, Hydraulic Systems, Automotive Service Advisor, Herbal Therapies, Anatomy and Physiology for RPNs, Counseling Skills in Oncology and Language Interpreter.

New classroom-based Continuing Education courses include Leadership for Women, Drawing in 3-D, Linear Perspective, Medical Terminology, Human Anatomy and Physiology, An Introduction to Motorcycling, Phlebotomy-Venipuncture Collection Procedures, German for Travellers, Decorating Tips to Sell Your Home, Introduction to Mental Health, Addictions and Concurrent Disorders, new Can-Fit Pro workshops and more.

The guide also includes information on NiagaraCollege’s new Summer Institute for Part-Time Studies: a slate of more than 50 courses offered during the day. The Summer Institute is designed to accommodate those whose schedules make it difficult to attend classes in the evening.

A four-page pull-out section for the Summer 2008 NiagaraKidsCollege is also included. Now in its second year, the popular NiagaraKidsCollege offers a wide range of summer programs and events for children aged 6 to 17. Highlights include Beauty Boot Camp for Teens and ‘Tweens, Junior Sailing School, JuniorGolfAcademy, a Tall Ship Pirate Cruise and many more. Details are available online at
