JOB SUMMARY

The San Francisco Symphony is seeking a Copywriter with a passion for music to join our Creative team. Reporting to the Creative Director and working alongside a team of designers and project managers, the ideal candidate will be independent-minded, research-orientated and keenly adept at transforming verbal and strategic direction into compelling copy tailored to reach a range of target audiences across a variety of channels (print, web, radio, television and out-of-home). We work in a fast-paced environment and are looking for a candidate that can hit the ground running and effortlessly juggle multiple projects with a range of styles and tones.

CONTENT DEVELOPMENT AND EXECUTION

  • Developcontent for SF Symphony marketing collateral across all channels: web, print, TV, radio and direct mail.
  • Working with brand style guides, tailor content for a range of audiences and channels.
  • Develop and maintain editorial calendar and content for all on-going customer-facing e-communications, including weekly newsletters, emails and concert reminders.
  • Utilize internal tools to update program information, source music beds and research topics and angles for content.
  • Collaborate across department in the development of seasonal campaigns.

MARKETING COORDINATION

  • Maintain copywriting style guides and ensure all marketing materials accurately reflect and reinforce the brand positioning.
  • Update content based on revised strategy and program information.
  • Stay up-to-date on current marketing trends and provide counsel on new angles to reach our audience.

OTHER

  • Regularly attend SFS concerts and events.
  • Assist with staffing events, free concerts, program production, etc. as necessary.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • 2+ years agency or in-house experience, with a portfolio of writing samples.
  • Passion and knowledge of music and the performing arts industry.
  • Detail-oriented work style.
  • Top-notch grammar, writing and proofreadingskills.
  • A natural ability to multi-task and managing competing deadlines.
