Dear students and parents,

Congratulations and welcome to NTU! In order to understandFreshmen’adjustment conditions, the Physical and Psychological Adjustment Scale are scheduled. The content, purpose, the preservation of scale results and ways to get the report is illustrated below.

Please read and check the box of “agree” or “disagree”, then print out for both student’s and parent’s signatures. Please hand it in during the “Freshmen Physical and Psychological Adjustment Scale Activity” during orientation. Students are sincerely encouraged to participate!

The Physical and Psychological Adjustment Scale

What’s inside?

This scale is designed by professor Wu, Yi-zhang in 1997. There are three parts in this scale, including self-assessment of general physical and mental health, evaluation of social resources, and questionnaire regarding mental health status.

Scale Taking

  1. Students will mark the answering sheet with pencils provided in designated classrooms for about 60 minutes.
  2. If you can not take the scale at the scheduled date, please come to the Student CounselingCenter anytime between 9 am to 4 pm before the registration deadline.

What for?

  1. Results may help understand your current physical and mental health status and adjustment of college life. It might be references of your college planning.
  2. The results may help the counselors to understand the students’ physical and mental health status in order to offer resources

How to Get the Resulting Report?

A E-mailwill be sent to your NTUaccount10 weeks after taking the scale. Please remember to retrieve via your NTU account.

The Preservation of Result

Students’ testing report will be preserved at the StudentCounselingCenter’s archives which is confidential and maintained secretly. No one can access the file without student’s approval.
