COMMITMENT BY THE CHIEF OF MISSION

The undersignedChief of Missiondeclares that he has read the CISM Regulations and acknowledges and understands the following:

A. Chief of Mission

1. Chiefs of Mission shall be familiar with all applicable CISM regulations.

2. Missions must not only participate or be present at sports events, they are also required to participate in information conferences on CISM, study days, commemorative and cultural events and ceremonies organized by the host nation.

B. Conduct of a mission

1. The Chief of Mission is responsible for the behavior and discipline of his team at all times. He shall ensure that at all times the members of his mission respect the rules and directives prescribed by CISM and the organizers of the competition. He must comply with strict adherence to appointments and tasks, as they are the basis for the efficient and effective conduct of the competitions and the associated ceremonies. Instances of poor sportsmanship or a demonstrated lack of discipline and deportment will be addressed by officials of the organizing committee and may result in the disqualification of individual athletes or teams.

2. The Chief of Mission shall also enforce all regulations concerning dress and behaviorduring the conduct of all official ceremonies. He must recognize his critical role in promoting the CISM spirit amongst the members of his mission, a spirit represented by a friendly attitude towards other missions, courtesy towards event organizers and fair-play and sportsmanship on the field of competitions. Any mission failing to wear military uniforms during the opening ceremony will not be authorized to take part in the competitions. The Official CISM Representative will communicate this decision to any mission that has violated this regulation as required.

3. In accordance with the Statutes and traditions of CISM, it is strictly prohibited to conduct any form of political or religious actions during a CISM event, including the dissemination of propaganda documents, pictures, brochures, or other similar items. Any contravention of these statutes shall result in the exclusion of the mission from this and further competitions.
