Connecting to Campus Assignment

Research has demonstrated that students who become involved with their campus have an enriched academic experience, have a higher rate of retention, and express greater satisfaction with their higher-education experience. They tend to perform better academically, develop a large group of social contacts, and broaden their cultural interests.

This assignment introduces you to organizations and activities available on campus that can provide you with an enriched experience. It requires you to start your Aggie Passport Experience by attending the Day on the Quad event on Wednesday, September 2 sometime between 10:30-2:30 p.m. to get your passport stamped and to explore clubs and organizations that are available at USU. The Aggie Passport Experience provides opportunities to attend many diverse events on campus and qualify for rewards and a reception at the home of President and Mrs. Albrecht.

Assignment Instructions

1.Attend the Day on the Quad activity sometime between 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday,

September 2. Take your Aggie Passport to get stamped at the Aggie Passport table that will be

located at the event (follow @AggiePassport on Twitter or facebook for an update as to where the tables are located on the day of the event).

2.Identify three clubs or organizations you find interesting, and collect the following information to

help you get involved:

  • Name of club or organization.
  • Contact information for club representative.
  • Meeting date(s), time(s), and location(s) if available.
  • Fee to join, if applicable.

Not all clubs and organizations are represented at Day on the Quad, so you can also go to to find additional involvement opportunities, as well as information on starting your own club.

3. Complete the following grid and answer the following questions.

Club or Organization / Contact Information / Meeting dates, times, and locations if available. / Fee to join, if applicable. / Why are you interested in this club or organization?
