Special Edition IV

Congressional Map Version 2 – SB 1178 (Sen. Raoul/Majority Leader Currie)

Today the General Assembly Democrat majorities revealed some “tweaks” to the proposed Congressional map. The House approved the action and the Senate moved it out of committee tonight so they can take action tomorrow before the May 31st deadline. The main difference between the new map contained in House Amendment 2 and the one released last week is in the 13th and 15th congressional districts.

The effect of the changes moves the homes of Congressman Johnson and Shimkus into the others district as drawn in the map released last week. There were some other changes in the 13th District that appear to increase the potential for more democrat leaning voters.

We have attached two Adobe Acrobat files to show a summary statewide and Chicago/Suburban map. To see an interactive version ofthe new US Congressional maps in Google Maps please CLICK HERE. If you need to manually enter the link please go to Appendix A at the end of this issue of QuickView.
