Dear Student:

Congratulations! You have dedicated yourself toward reaching the culmination of your AP course, the AP Exam. IF YOU HAVE NOT PAID FOR YOUR EXAM(S), YOU MUST DO SO IMMEDIATELY IN THE BUSINESS OFFICE.

As you have been repeatedly told this school year and is policy as stated in the Blackstone Valley Tech Program of Studies (it is also in each course description): “Students who elect to take AP course(s) must also agree to participate in the AP exam(s) at the conclusion of the course(s).”

Listed below is the exam schedule for Blackstone Valley Tech students. Please review it carefully for the date and time of YOUR particular exam(s).

You ARE RESPONSIBLE TObring the following items to the exam room:

  • Several sharpened No. 2 pencils (with erasers) for completing multiple-choice answer sheets (no mechanical pencils).
  • Pens with black or dark blue ink for completing areas on the exam booklet covers and for free-response questions in most exams.
  • A watch (in case you cannot clearly see the clocks in the exam area).
  • Up to two calculators with the necessary capabilities if you are taking an AP Biology, Calculus, Chemistry or Physics exam.Visit apstudent.collegeboard.org/apcoursefor the course calculator policies.
  • A ruler or straightedge (no protractors) if you are taking an AP Physics Exam.
  • Your Social Security number for identification purposes (optional). If you provide it, the number will appear on your AP score reports.
  • Your College Board SSD Accommodations Letter if you are taking an exam with approved testing accommodations.
  • BRING A LUNCH – To keep in Shop. By the time we finish testing the cafeteria will be closed.

You WILL NOT bring the following to the exams:

  • Electronic equipment (Cell phones, smart phone, smart watch, laptop, tablet computer, etc.), portable listening or recording devices (MP3 player, iPod, etc.), cameras or other photographic equipment, devices that can access the Internet, personal digital assistants (PDAs), Bluetooth-enabled devices,e-mail/messaging devices, or any other electronic or communication devices.
  • Books, compasses, mechanical pencils, colored pencils*, correction fluid, dictionaries, highlighters*, or notes.
  • Rulers and straightedges (except as noted above).*
  • Scratch paper (notes can be made on portions of the exam booklets).
  • Computers* or calculators (except as noted above).
  • Reference guides, keyboard maps, or other typing instructions.
  • Watches that beep or have an alarm.
  • Portable listening* or recording devices (even with headphones) or photographic equipment.
  • Food or drink.*
  • Clothing with subject-related information.

* Unless this has been preapproved as an accommodation by the College Board Services for Students with Disabilities office prior to the test date.

You are required to arrive no later than 30 minutes prior to your exam: 7:30 a.m. for the morning administration and 11:30 a.m. for the afternoon administration. If you are taking a morning test, DO NOT go to Homeroom.

Students WILL NOTBEDISMISSED until an exam has officially ended; do not ask to leave early. If you play a sport or have a job, it is your responsibility to inform your coach or employer of your AP Exam obligation, and arrangements should be made accordingly. (Physics ends after 4:00 p.m.) Students will return to shop and academic classes following exams to fulfill their obligations. In order to be dismissed from school following an exam, you must have a signed permission slip from your parent/guardian.

It is advisable to bring a sweater or extra garment in case the room temperature is below your comfort level. Get a good night’s rest before your exam, and eat a nutritious breakfast. You are allowed to bring a snack and beverage for your 10-minute break. Snacks and drinks will not be allowed near your seat.

You are required to abide by the policies of both the College Board and Blackstone Valley Tech during the exam period. Any misconduct will be reported and could jeopardize your AP Exam score.
