About two weeks ago, there was a flood at Shull School. A steam pipe had ruptured on the second floor. Since, all the water has been cleaned up, but it left major damage.
Luckily, we all got to enjoy an extra day off from school after our Fall Break on Monday, November 14, 2016. Just when we thought we would kick our feet up again, Mr. Heidelberg and the administration sprung into action to make sure we wouldn’t miss any more instructional time. We were all back in school the next day. Although the Tigers weren’t directly affected, our school was impacted as a whole. There were some minor changes to our schedules and classroom locations, and all of the 6th grade students and staff were relocated to the Perth Amboy High School Main Campus and South Campus. Many of our upcoming events have been cancelled but soon enough, we will be running in tip top shape.
Even though the sudden change seemed chaotic at first, the students and staff here at Shull School pulled together to make the transition as smooth as possible. Don’t forget that we have to make up the day we missed on December 22nd!

AVID is an amazing program! It stands for Advancement Via Individual Determination. It gives students a chance to become aware of their opportunities and learn how to improve their skills so that they are ready for college. The “Tiger Talk” Newsletter Committee wants to thank all of the teachers and staff who made AVID possible at SHULL. Lesly Lopez, a 7th grade Tiger and AVID student, says, “ AVID tells you that you will face many obstacles in life, but if you try, you will reach your goal.”
