JUST MARRIED CHECKLIST. . .

Congratulations! Here are few things to consider if you are newly married:

  • Your social security card must reflect your married name before we can change your name in our fiscal system. Please refer to the Social Security Administration website for specificinformation regarding application for a new, duplicate or revised social security card. You will need to bring your new social security card reflecting your married name in to the district office before we can change your name in our fiscal system.
  • You will want to consider your current federal withholding status and perhaps submit a revised IRS Form W-4 to payroll.
  • You may add your spouse to your vision and dental insurance at no additional cost. Complete the NBN enrollment form (available from payroll) to update your enrollment to include your spouse. To update your dental insurance, you can either go online to the WEA Select Benefits system ( and indicate that you have incurred a qualifying life event and wish to add your spouse to your dental plan OR contact the WEA Select Benefits Customer Service department (855-668-5039) and a customer service representative will assist you with adding your spouse to your dental plan. You will need to provide your spouse’s social security number and the date of marriage.
  • If you would like to add your spouse to your Premera health plan, you will need to contact the WEA Select Benefits Customer Service department (855-668-5039) and they will walk you through the process of adding your spouse to your plan. For additions to your Group Health plan, contact the payroll department. (NOTE: there will be a cost associated with adding your spouse to your health plan – cost will vary according to plan selection)
  • If you have moved, please advise the district office of your updated mailing address and telephone contact information – use Personal Data Change form, available on the district website or from your building secretary.
  • If you will be changing your direct deposit account information, please submit the new account information to payroll prior to the 5th of any month in order to have that account activated in time for your end of the month payroll direct deposit. Direct Deposit form available on the district website.
  • You will also want to consider your beneficiary designations for the following:
  • Premera Blue Cross Health insurance and associated life insurance
  • Washington State Department of Retirement Systems
  • CIGNA 25K life insurance
  • Any voluntary life insurance you may have
