A brand new exciting vacancy has just come in for a Full-Time Optical Practice Manager to join a new franchise practice in a prime location. We are one of the most trusted names in optics and the practice is due to open in the middle of June in a fantastic high street location in the heart of Congleton, Cheshire. The practice will also include its own hearing care centre and will have the ideal environment in which the people at the heart of the business can continually learn and develop their skills to reach their full potential. The Director has ambitious plans for the business and is looking for a talented and enthusiastic Practice Manager, with a long-term outlook, to help shape the business and join a purpose-led team that puts its patients at the heart of everything they do.

You will be responsible for the management of store operations in order to achieve excellent customer service, financial goals and business objectives. Our company’s goal is to deliver outstanding patient care, combined with sound dispensing advice and product recommendations that best suit individual customer needs. In addition to the highest quality equipment, we aim to provide both our colleagues and customers with an overall excellent environment.
Job Description
The Practice Manager's primary responsibility, will be to manage and grow the practice in order to provide excellent customer service and as a result, increase sales of the practice over the long-term. Further responsibilities include:
To manage and develop the practice team members to achieve their sales targets, and to ensure smooth running of customer journey’s in the practice, managing marketing, operations, HR and finance.
Organise and deliver training.
Manage the targets and performance of the practice; from the optometrists to the optical assistants.
Hire employees when vacancies arise.
Coach the team to deliver the service that is required to grow the business.
Report directly to the company director providing key data and growth plans.
Perform colleague performance reviews and provide disciplinary action when required.
The Successful Applicant
The successful Practice Manager will have:
Experience managing teams (people development and management).
Sales management experience.
Successful target achievement.
Ability to coach, develop and inspire teams.
Ability to coach on sales and communication skills in terms of optics and the customer journey.
Optical industry experience.
Commercial awareness.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to diagnose, problem solve and generate fresh and innovative ideas.
Ability to plan, prioritise workloads and delegate accordingly.
