CONFLICT MINERALS

DATE: August 19, 2014

Dear Supplier:

Michigan Spring and Stamping (MS&S) is a supplier to companies impacted by the Conflict Minerals legislation. In compliance with the final SDEC ruling pursuant to Section 1502 of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, MS&S is required to report on usage of “conflict minerals” throughout our supply chain.

The term “conflict mineral” is defined in Section 1502(e)(4) of the Act as (A) columbite-tantalite, also known as coltan (the metal ore from which tantalum is extracted); cassiterite (the metal ore from which tin is extracted; wolframite (the metal ore from which tungsten is extracted); gold; or their derivatives; or (B) any other mineral or it derivatives determined by the Secretary of State to be financing conflict in the Democratic Republic of the Congo or an adjoining country.

MS&S initially surveyed our supply base in 2011, but to remain compliant, a request for this information will be submitted to our suppliers annually. Please fill out and return this survey in regards to any raw materials or processes (plating, etc.) supplied to MS&S so we can update our records in response to the finalized ruling.
