Minutes from January 3 2008 Conference Call

3.1  Agenda

·  Attendance (Steve)

·  Check to see if anyone is not familiar with the IEEE patent policy

·  Data Traffic Model (Shahar)

·  Simulation Parameters (Paul)

·  New business

3.2  Notes

·  Shahar reviewed document 08/1r0 document on data traffic model

·  Paul suggested rewording the phrase “parsing time”

·  Shahar will check the 16m document and possibly modify document 08/1r0

·  Section 7.1.2 lists many inter-arrival times. It might make sense to tabulate these with the average offered load and whether it is mandatory or optional.

·  We agreed that the best way to finalize the simulation parameters document is to do a final review using written comments. So we will start to collect written comments after the Interim meetings starting on January 31

·  We also agreed to review the simulation results at the March Plenary meeting.

·  Paul plans to run simulations for the UCP and Shahar plans to run simulations for both the coordinated coexistence and the UCP

·  Steve agreed to produce an outline for the 16h CA document

·  Schedule

-  Jan 31, next call. Start collection of comments on documents

-  Feb 14 call, start resolving comments

-  Feb 28 call, resolve comments, finalize document

-  Mar 13 call, prepare for Plenary

-  Mar 17-21 Plenary meeting, review simulation results and CA document

Minutes from January 31 2008 Conference Call

4.1  Agenda

·  Attendance (Steve)

·  Check to see if anyone is not familiar with the IEEE patent policy

·  Simulation Parameters (Paul)

·  Coexistence Metrics (Steve)

·  Outline of 802.16h CA document (Steve)

·  Discuss Electronic Commenting Process (All)

·  New business

4.2  Notes

·  Reviewed simulation parameters document (doc 802.19-07/11r13). Two small changes made since the last conference call

·  Reviewed updated Coexistence Metrics document (doc 802.19-07/20r2) which added a metric on packet error rate

-  Action Item – Add text in Coexistence Metrics document on how to determine if there is a packet error (Steve)

·  We reviewed the outline with a new version from Mariana (doc 802.19-08/3r1)

-  Marianna suggested adding a section on coexistence mechanisms in 802.11y and a simulation of 802.11y with another 802.11y network with different bandwidths

·  We discussed the electronic commenting process

-  It will cover the simulation parameters document and the coexistence metric document

-  The comments will be due by Feb 26. People are encouraged to get in some of their comments before the Feb 14 conference call so we can start discussing them. This would give us three conference calls (Feb 14, Feb 28 and Mar 13) before the Plenary meeting to complete discussion on the comments.

-  The process for addressing comments will be consensus and if necessary straw polls

Minutes from February 14 2008 Conference Call

5.1  Agenda

·  Attendance (Steve)

·  Check to see if anyone is not familiar with the IEEE patent policy

·  Discuss Plans for March meeting

·  New business

5.2  Notes

·  We decided to hold two two-hour meeting on the topic of coexistence of 11y and 16h

·  We picked time slots that do not conflict with 11n/11y/16h

o  Tuesday PM1

o  Wednesday PM2

·  We did not decide whether it is a 802.19 meeting or a joint 16h/19 meeting. That is really up to the 16h members

·  Topics to include on the agenda for that meeting are,

o  Review comments on sim and metrics documents

o  Review preliminary CA document

·  Steve will send out a reminder next week that the comments on the simulation and metrics documents are due on February 26.

·  Next call is February 28

Minutes from February 28 2008 Conference Call

6.1  Agenda

·  Attendance (Steve)

·  Check to see if anyone is not familiar with the IEEE patent policy

·  Review Compiled Comments

·  New business

6.2  Notes

·  Agreed on procedure for resolving comments

o  Discuss each comment

o  If a comment can be resolved within 5 min then record resolution

o  If a comment cannot be resolved within 5 min then mark “Deferred” and move on

o  After we have gone through all comments once, we return to the deferred comments

·  Began to resolve comments

·  Next call is Monday March 10, for two hours
