Conference Aim
Based on the great success of Conference “Concrete and Concrete Structures 2005”, we again want to bring to academics, researchers and practitioners from Central Europe the review of recent achievements, share the latest developments and discuss present as well as future challenges in the field of concrete and concrete structures.

About Conference “Concrete and Concrete Structures”
The fifth Conference “Concrete and Concrete Structures” will take place in Žilina. It will be the natural sequence of the previous conferences held in Košice, 1998 and Žilina, 1999, 2002 and 2005. The Conference was organised in frame of common cooperation with the TU Košice and Cracow University of Technology. The Brno University of Technology has been also participating in the Conference organising since 2005.
The fifth Conference “Concrete and Concrete Structures” will continue to provide aforum for these concerned with concrete and concrete structures to discuss topics within Central Europe context. Participants from the whole area of concrete and concrete structures, investors, designers, consultants, academics, as well as researches are invited to contribute.
Conference Main Topics
The papers to be presented at the Conference “Concrete and Concrete Structures” should cover following topics groups:
New materials and products in concrete and concrete structures;
New trends in theory, design and construction;
Development in structural systems;
Diagnostics of concrete structures and bridges;
Maintenance, rehabilitation and reconstruction;
Standardisation in concrete and concrete structures, Eurocodes;
Composite steel and concrete structures and bridges.
Venue
The Conference “Concrete and Concrete Structures” will be held at the University of Žilina, Aula NG 01, Veľký Diel, 010 26 Žilina, Slovakia.
Transport from the Railway and Bus Station: by Trolley-bus No 1,4 and No 22+7.
Proceedings
The papers will be published in Conference proceedings. For publication in the Conference Proceedings only papers, which will reach the organiser till July 15, 2009 in given layout of A4 format will be accepted.
Please note that only papers of registered participants (one co-author as minimum) can be accepted for publication in the Conference Proceedings.
The length of the abridged papers for Conference Proceedings is strictly limited to six pages. In the case of shorter contribution it is recommended to have two or four pages only (only even-numbered!).
Oral Presentation
The detailed schedule of oral presentations will be presented in Tentative Technical Programme. The oral presentation will be limited to 10 or 12 minutes per each registered contribution to have enough space for discussion of all topics presented in asession. The PC data projector with PowerPoint will be available in the Conference room. The papers registered to the Conference after August 15, 2009 will be accepted for oral presentation in the case of time available.
Language
The official Conference working languages will be Slovak, Czech, Polish and English. The Conference proceedings will be written in English.
Commercial Exhibition
The Companies interested in exhibiting their products and services are invited to contact the Conference Secretariat. Attractive spaces and conditions will be provided. The special room for poster presentation will be available during the Conference.
The fees for participation in the poster presentation or commercial presentation in Conference Proceedings were determined to 200 €.
Conference Dinner
The Conference Dinner will be served at 19oo on October 15, 2009. The traditional Slovak dishes and drinks will be served to taste atmosphere of Žilina region.
Conference Registration
The completed Conference Registration Form should be sent so as to be received by the Conference Secretariat preferably by September 10, 2009. Participants registering and paying before September 10, 2009 will benefit from areduced advanced registration fee.
Registration and information desk, located in the foyer of the Aula NG 01, will be open on the day before and during the Conference.

Post-Conference technical visit
The post-Conference technical visit for participants and accompanying persons (min 20 persons) is planed on Friday, October 16, 2009. The technical visit will be related to highway bridges in construction near town Považská Bystrica.
