  1. Run site TIG test in computer suite at non-critical time (full computer system must be running during the test)
  2. Do not place welding torch on or near to any computer equipment in case welding torch button is pressed by accident.
  3. Ensure welding plant earth is located such that there is no interference with computer systems.

Process/Work Activity Detail:
This is a computer system risk assessment i.e. the hazards presented by the welding process that could impact on the smooth operation of the computer system. Should the welding test proceed (out-with normal working hours) it is essential that the full computer system is active.
The test should comprise of TIG welding in all areas that welding could take place and electronics are nearby. The test should identify suitable earthing points for use during the piping install.
The welder shall bring pre-tacked test pieces e.g. 6 - 2” pipes
Fume extraction will not be required for the welding test.
