Computer/Marine/Mechanical Engineer:

Continental Tide Defense Systems, Inc. is actively seeking a motivated, energetic and detail-oriented individual for a Mechanical Engineering position to be located at the Philadelphia Naval Business Center in Philadelphia, PA. The successful candidate will join our Engineering Team currently supporting initiatives for Naval Sea Systems Command at the Naval Ship Systems Engineering Station. Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree in computer, marine, or mechanical engineering or a related field from an accredited college or university. Target experience (0-5 years) includes: knowledge of system engineering processes, familiarity with machinery automation, ability to design, document, program, simulate, maintain, test and troubleshoot automated machinery and complex control systems, and experience with PLC-based control systems. Willingness to travel, strong verbal and written communication skills, the ability to work in teams, and a process-oriented individual is a must.

Requirements include:

● Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree in computer, marine, or mechanical engineering or a related field

● Knowledge of system engineering processes, familiarity with machinery automation, automated machinery and complex control systems, and experience with PLC-based control systems

● Ability to secure a RAPIDGate Security Credential

● Must possess basic hand tools

● Candidate must be able to walk, stand for long periods of time, sit, bend, stretch, reach, squat and twist

● Must be able to lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes. The exact weight requirements will be determined by the specific job, but no less than 30 lbs.

● Able to work on and climb ladders, work in extreme temperature environments, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions and in confined spaces.

● Able to perform other duties as required which may involve high heat, humidity, noise and dirty conditions, working aloft or over the sides of vessels.

● May ride ships at sea for extended periods.

● May require wearing a respirator.

● Travel may be required within and outside of the continental United States.
