1.  The Project

2.  CIITN web site

·  Either click on CIITN link at bottom of page on course web site or type http://ciitn.missouri.edu

»  Logging into your group account

§  Click “Student Group Login” at top of page

¨  Enter “2004004” as course ID

¨  Enter your group name

¨  Type your group number for password (given at session)

»  Updating group information

§  Click on “Group Information”

¨  Click on “Members”

¨  Click on “Add a Student” (you must do this for each group member!!!)

¨  Enter appropriate information correctly and click “Submit”

¨  Click on “Action” and change your group password ASAP

»  Once in your account you can begin work on your project

§  To begin working on project click “My Project”

§  To view what has been accomplished so far click “View”

§  To work on project click “Update”

¨  Under “News URL” put the link for your news article

¨  Write Interpretive comments, using HTML to alter text and insert links and images. (“HTML Help” link left of the Interpretive Comments field has the HTML codes you will need)

»  Save ChemDraw, Chem3D, and other image files on disk, the desktop, or to Bengal using the format: group#_pic#.gif (i.e. group4_pic1.gif).

¨  Click “Upload Files” to add image files to the database

¨  Insert images into your Interpretive comments using HTML code

3.  Newspaper article selection

·  Go to “News Sources” on the left side of the CIITN homepage and explore those resources. Look for unique but credible sources and unique topics.

4.  Inter-group peer review (2 rounds)

·  Login to Group Account

·  Click “View Projects” to see what your fellow students have done.

·  Click “Projects to Review” to see the projects your group needs to review.

·  Click “Grade Projects” and then the correct round to review those projects.

·  Enter group number of the project you are reviewing and enter scores and comments (you must enter comments) and “Submit”.

5.  Intra-group peer review (1 round)

·  Login to Individual Account (your student number is your default login name and password, you need to change this ASAP to protect the integrity of your account).

·  Click “Grade Members”

»  Click “Guide Line” for the intra-group peer review guidelines.

»  Click “Peer Review”

¨  Insert scores and comments (you must insert comments) and “Submit”.

¨  If the scores you assigned do not add up to 100, put leftover points in the “Points Left” box.
