3.0Composite and Materials Testing Laboratories Task Group Primes

A combined meeting with Composites and Material Testing Laboratories task group was convened to address the future responsibility for the Non Metallic Materials Testing sub task group.

3.1The options under discussion were as follows:

1.Require ISO/IEC 17025; remain in MTL Task Group

2.Transfer to Composites Task Group; maintains current process

3.Create a New Task Group

4.1 TG to handle ‘captive’ labs; another for independent labs.

3.2After discussion of these options was completed a motion was made and seconded to adopt option 2 as the direction the sub task group will operate to. A vote was then taken with a quorum met and all present MTL voting members accepting the option 2 proposal with no rejections or abstentions.

ACTION ITEM – David Luoni to forward a list of voting members of the Non Metallic Materials Testing Task Group to Rebekah Foutz

Action Item – All composites Task Group prime voting members to identify appropriate alternate from Materials Testing Laboratories to give them voting rights in this sub group

ACTION ITME – PRI to send out e-mail to identify voting membership requirements for the Composites Task Group

ACTION ITEM – Composites Task Group must clearly document formal acceptance of the Non Metallic sub-team

4.0Checklist and Standard development

4.1Future of AS7122

4.1.1Now that AS7122 will no longer be the supporting document, the Task group must decide what to do with it. TG has ownership of AS document and has option of maintaining it.

4.1.2Suggestion was made to turn AS7122 into AC7122 (no slash). A final decision was not made.

Action Item–PRI to determine if a periodic review is required for AS documents

ACTION ITEM – Andreas Mastorakis to forward Airbus’ list of suppliers to PRI

4.2Test Matrix

4.2.1eAuditNet will not support alpha characters for identifying slash sheets, therefore, the current numbering system in the test matrix must be changed.

4.2.2Numbering system suggested by Niko was presented. This system will allow additions or subtractions without requiring complete renumbering.

4.2.3Motion was made and approved to accept new numbering system. Table with new numbering system will be inserted into next draft of AC7122 and AS7122.

4.2.4It was decided (in Long Beach) that 50% of tests in category (up to a maximum of six) must be audited if seeking certification for entire section (e.g. mechanical, thermal) or specific tests can be chosen.

4.2.5Supplier selects tests for which they are seeking accreditation.

4.2.6It was decided that Betty Kocsis will maintain and coordinate the AC7122/1, Mike Bemis will maintain and coordinate the AC 7122/2 checklist, and Andreas Mastorakis will maintain and coordinate the AS7122.

4.2.7Specimen conditioning will be added as Section 2 in the AC7122/2,
