Complete these tasks before you attend the ERV Orientation and Road Test.

1.  Complete the ERV – Ready, Set, Roll Participation Workbook and watch the videos (you can obtain both of these from your disaster staff. You can also find the videos online by going to YouTube and typing “ERV: Ready, Set, Roll” in the search bar). Answer all of the review questions and complete all of the activities.

2.  Complete the Course Review and the Authorized Driver Application located in the Appendix C of the ERV Participation Workbook.

3.  Obtain a copy of your Motor Vehicle report. Here is a link to purchase it online through the DMV (it costs $3.00): https://www.nebraska.gov/dmv/dlrcc/index.cgi.

You can also request Volunteer Services for this. Please contact Nathan Woodruff at or at (402) 343-7716. This option, however, may take a couple weeks to process.

4.  Obtain a copy of your Defensive Driving certificate. If you haven’t taken Defensive Driving or do not have any records of you participating, you can take the course online for free through the State of California and print off the completion certificate. 5.  Ensure that your First Aid and CPR Certifications are valid and up to date. You can sign up for these classes by going to www.redcross.org or by calling 1-800-REDCROSS (the promo code so that these courses are free for you is: DISASTER1013)

6.  Complete the online course “Basic Food Safety”. You will find this course is in EDGE.

7.  Complete the online course “Bulk Distribution Fundamentals”. You will find this course in EMBARC and can also use this link: Bulk Distribution Fundamentals

What to bring with you to the ERV Orientation and Road Test

1.  All of the Appendix C in the ERV Participation Workbook: Completed Course Review and Authorized Driver Application, Record of Road Test, Course Evaluation

2.  Copy of your personal Motor Vehicle Report

3.  Copy of your Defensive Driving Certificate

4.  Copy of your valid First Aid and CPR Certifications

5.  Valid Driver’s License
