Schmersal and Coal Control are presenting joint safety technology solutions for conveyor systems.

Wuppertal / Dortmund, 4 November 2015. The Schmersal Group and Coal Control Gesellschaft für Automation mbH is presenting complete safety technology solutions from a single source at Schüttgut in Dortmund. The product portfolios of the two companies complement each other well, allowing the customers to benefit from the global sales partnership that Schmersal and Coal Control entered into earlier this year.

Schmersal focuses on providing components and systems for machine safety on conveyor systems, including level switches for fill level monitoring, command devices, such as emergency stop switches for rough operating conditions, safety relay components and controllers, belt sander run switches for monitoring straight running and emergency cord switches in robust designs for reliable emergency stopping.

Coal Control develops and produces safety systems to guarantee the process safety of conveyor systems and contribute to reducing investment and maintenance costs, including devices for speed monitoring and damage limitation, measurement systems for monitoring conveyor belt connections, monitoring systems for early detection of longitudinal slits and support monitoring systems.

In future, the two companies will also be offering extensive consultancy services. A high-performance sales network guarantees that the products, solutions and services from Schmersal and Coal Control are available around the globe.

Schmersal presents product range for potentially explosive areas

At the same time, the Schmersal Group is using Schüttgut 2015 to showcase safety components for potentially explosive areas, including heavy cord switches and position switches, magnetic sensors and command devices and indicator lights for explosive areas.

The switchgear for explosive areas is designed in accordance with the ATEX directive 9/49/EU and

can be used in ex-zones 1 or 2 (gas ex) or 21 or 21 (dust ex), depending on the model. The SRB-EXi safety relay modules from Schmersal now have IECEx and INMETRO approval and therefore meet explosion protection requirements all over the world.
