Dear Band Parents and Students,
Here is the information letter for the Georgia Music Educator’s Association State Band Large Group Performance Evaluation (LGPE) . Please review the information and make the appropriate arrangements regarding your child’s participation and your attendance at these concerts. The Dickerson 7th Grade Concert Band is scheduled to perform at 4:20 pm on Monday, March 21st, 2016 at Kell High School. All Parents are welcome and encouraged to attend this very important performance.
Students must travel to Kell H.S. with the group, but if you attend the concert performance and would like to take your child home after sight-reading is completed, please indicate this on the permission form. The philosophy of ourPE includes students taking advantage of the opportunity to watch and listen to other middle school bands perform, so please stick around for a couple if you can! Students who cannot be picked up at Kell will be brought back to Dickerson
We will need 6 – 10 parents to chaperone from 1:00 pm – 6:00 pm. This is an excellent opportunity to involve yourself with your child’s school. Please indicate on the form if you are interested.
The LGPE is a formal concert event, and since the band will be rated on their appearance, the Dickerson Bands will be wearing their formal uniforms. Please make certain your child brings his/her black and white concert attire to school that morning. All clothes will be stored in the band room during the day, so please make sure the uniform is stored in a garment bag with the student’s name clearly labeled on the bag!
We appreciate your support of music at Dickerson! On the back side is an itinerary for the State LGPE day. Please call us if you need any additional information or further explanations. Maps to Kell H.S. will be sent home closer to the LGPE performance day. Attached to this letter is a permission form/chaperone sign-up.
Please have your child return the permission form by Friday, March 4th!
