Job Description

CPS is seeking energetic individuals to work as Summer Research Assistants at our Research, Development & Innovation Farm located 15 miles southwest of Carman at Rosebank, MB. As a member of our R, D & I team you will have the opportunity to increase your agronomic knowledge and gain an understanding of small plot research and commercial crop production in Western Canada. Our focus is primarily on canola breeding, however, you will have the opportunity to work with other crops such as wheat, barley, flax, soybeans, and corn. You will also gain experience with research plot equipment and driving a Class 3 truck and trailer. CPS offers a competitive salary with paid overtime. Become part of our team in 2017! Position: / Summer Research Assistant
Term: / April/May to September (some flexibility)
Location: / CPS Research, Development & Innovation Farm- Rosebank, Manitoba
Responsibilities: / Preparation of seed samples, planting, spraying, maintenance and harvesting of research trials, data collection, operating field equipment as well as truck and trailer. Some travel will be required.
Qualifications: / Post-secondary student (any discipline), agricultural education and/or related experience and/or farm background an asset but not necessary, attention to detail, safety-oriented, ability to work independently as well as part of a team, valid driver’s license and must be willing to obtain Class 3 driver’s license.
