Dear Community Partner:

Angelman Syndrome (AS) is a rare neurodevelopmental disorder that you may not have heard of – yet. Research has shown that in order to find treatments or a cure for multiple-gene disorders—such as autism—treatment of one-gene disorders, such as Angelman syndrome, must first pave the way. This is why I am reaching out to you today—we are edging ever closer to a cure, and we are energized. No national organization better supports families, researchers, medical professionals, community service providers and educators in the day-to-day management of AS than the Angelman Syndrome Foundation (ASF).

“Compared to 30 other pediatric neurological disorders, I would make the case that Angelman syndrome is at the top – it is THE single-most optimistic possibility for a cure.”

--Dr. Art Beaudet, Angelman syndrome researcher responsible for identifying the EBE3A gene

The ASF hosts an annual National Walk that consistently attracts more than 10,000 participants, 2,500+ volunteers and considerable media coverage in many states throughout the country. It is our largest annual fundraiser, contributing more than $1 Million to our annual budget for research, medical clinics and family support. Our 2017 walk is slotted to be in 51 locations across the continent on May 20, 2017.

At our Walk in <insert city name> we offer a raffle as an additional way to raise funds for Angelman Syndrome. Please consider donating an item/gift card from your business for our raffle. We would truly appreciate any support your business can give. And, our local families are sure to remember your business when they are making their own purchases.

I hope you will join with us as together we provide hope, support and encouragement for everyone touched by Angelman syndrome. Your help will bring us one step closer to finding a cure for this debilitating genetic disorder. Because you care, they have hope.

If you have something to donate, please contact our Raffle Coordinator, <insert Raffle Leader name> at <insert contact info>. You may also request additional information regarding Angelman syndrome at: 800-432-6435 or by visiting
