COMP Cams® Memphis Nationals Resurrected

COMP Cams® brings back popular Memphis Nationals this September at Riverside Speedway in West Memphis, AR

For more than four years, the COMP Cams® Memphis Nationals generated great racing and great excitement at the ¼-mile oval track at Memphis Motorsports Park in Memphis, TN. However, when the facility was decommissioned in 2007, the event went into hibernation. With the 2010 race season now upon us, and many exciting announcements coming down the pike, it has been announced that Tennessee-based COMP Cams® has brought the COMP Cams® Memphis Nationals back from the dead. The event will be held on Saturday, September 18th at Riverside International Speedway in West Memphis, Arkansas, with a racing docket that will include the COMP Cams® MSRA Super Late Model finale, the COMP Cams® Memphis Street Stock championship and the Open Wheel Modified division battling for a special purse.

The COMP Cams® Memphis Nationals will serve as the culmination of the three-race COMP Cams® Memphis Street Stock Championship presented by the MidSouthRacing.com Mini Series, and will boast a $1,500 winner’s share and $100 just to start the 20 lap main event. Two qualifiers, dubbed the “Road to the Nationals” qualifiers, will be held leading up to the main event. Each will have a $500 top prize for the Street Stock division. In addition, the winner of each event is guaranteed a provisional starting spot in the grand finale on September 18th. The first Road to the Nationals qualifier will be held Saturday, April 10th, in conjunction with the COMP Cams® MSRA Super Late Model special at Riverside International Speedway. The second Road to the Nationals qualifier will be held on Saturday, June 19th, in conjunction with a Weekly Racing Series event. More information on the COMP Cams® Memphis Street Stock Nationals will be available soon.

The COMP Cams® MSRA Super Late Model tour will also be a part of the Memphis Nationals, as the event will wrap up their season in the 4th Annual Bartlett Hardwood Floor Service Mid-South Dirt Track Championship. A $3,000 to win/$400 to start, 40 lap program will round out the night’s festivities.

The Open Wheel Modified division will be the third and final class in action at the COMP Cams® Memphis Nationals. Final details for format and payout will be released in the coming weeks.
