Community Resource Partners (United Way)

As part of its community impact model, UWSWA collaborates with health and human service organizations in Choctaw, Clarke, Mobile, and Washington counties to address key social issues in the areas of UWSWA’s four building blocks for a better life: health, education, financial stability, and essentials.

By partnering with local agencies, United Way of Southwest Alabama furthers its vision of strengthening communities by uniting and mobilizing resources.

The agencies listed below go through a comprehensive vetting process, during which they are examined and their by-laws, tax forms, and audits are reviewed by a panel of community volunteers. The agencies are also visited and evaluated as part of their application process. Every two years, area nonprofits have the opportunity to apply to become a United Way Partner Agency.

The Child Advocacy Center

The mission of the Child Advocacy Center (CAC) is to be the Mobile community response to the problem of child abuse. Mulherin Custodial Home

Our primary purpose is to provide a home for individuals, children and adults with developmental disabilities.
