VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES ON CAMPUS
Zumba—Support the Fight Against Breast Cancer
9:00 — 11:30 a.m.— ASH Field House
Registration begins at8:30 a.m. For a donation of $5, participate in a Zumba class where 100% of the proceeds will benefit the Breast Cancer Program at St. Joseph Mercy Oakland. After an hour of Zumba, the group will hear from a guest speaker from SJMO. SJMO operates the only Comprehensive Breast Center in Oakland County and offers a full continuum of breast care services from the latest breast health technology and services to screening and diagnostics and offers a variety of treatment options and survivorship support.


Rosary Makers
9:00 — 11:30 a.m.— ASH Cyber Café
Join the Rosary Makers group from St. Irenaeus Catholic Church to make beaded rosaries that will be sent on missions throughout the world. Rosary making is a very peaceful and rewarding activity. No tools or experience needed to participate.
Warming Up America
9:00 — 11:30 a.m.— ASH Parlor
Join Patti Wagner and Sharon Maust Jacob’62to knit squares for an afghan that will be given to someone in need of caring warmth. Participants need a basic knowledge of knitting or crocheting but do not need to know how to cast on, cast off, or follow a pattern. All supplies will be provided. Adults and students are welcome to participate in this wonderful experience!
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES OFF CAMPUS
DTE Energy Farm Project
9:30 — 11:30 a.m.— Farmington Hills
Volunteers will harvest fresh produce for Gleaners to distribute to local food pantries. DTE Garden Sites have only two staff members, and this organization is dependent on volunteers. There is a huge demand for this fresh, organic produce in the community. If possible, please bring your own gardening tools (shovels, gloves, hoes, and trowels); label anything that you bring to assist you with gardening. Volunteers should dress for working outside.Wear closed-toe boots and clothes that can get dirty.
Hazel Park Animal Shelter
9:00 a.m. — Noon— Hazel Park
Ages 11 to Adult
Volunteers will clean dog crates, runs and cages, walk the dogs, and visit with the cats. Volunteers should dress for working outside.Wear boots and clothes that can get dirty.
Forgotten Harvest
10:00 a.m. — 1:00 p.m.— Oak Park
Ages 12 to Adult
Volunteers will re-pack surplus perishable food into family-size portions that Forgotten Harvest will deliver to emergency food providerson Monday.
