Sierra Harvest is a nonprofit dedicated to educating, inspiring and connecting the people of Nevada County to fresh, local, seasonal food. We train dozens of farmers, organize hundreds of community events, and educate over 6,500 school children. We envision a thriving local food economy and a network of financially viable farms providing good food for the community, wherehealth and wellness is the norm andpeople of all ages are engaged in growing, harvesting,preparing, and sharing fresh food. We are creating a place where farmers thrive and residents of all ages have access to nutritious, whole food.

Summary

The Operations Assistantsupports the Operations Manager, and Executive Directors. They may also aid other program managers.The Operations Assistantmust be adept, proficient, highly motivated, and be very dependable and professional. Key responsibilities will include data management, administrative support and basic book keeping.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Update the organizational database, including adding new contacts/donations/events/tracking codes,and utilize it to create filters, generate reports, track event attendance, etc.
  • Accounts payable/receivable support including making deposits, filing, inputting bills, and dispersing checks under the supervision of the Operations Manager
  • Farm to school program evaluation and deliverable tracking
  • Update online organizational calendars
  • IT trouble shooting
  • Customer service: Answer phones, greet people who come to the office.
  • Supervise office volunteers.
  • Calls and communications to Sierra Harvest constituents.
  • Manage donor appreciation process
  • Design flyers, spreadsheets and other documents
  • Schedule meetings
  • Run business errands
  • Perform general office administrative and clerical duties such as maintaining a professional looking, clutter free office, ordering, storing, and organizing all office supplies, and managing incoming and outgoing letters and packages.

  • Professional, Organized, Detail oriented
  • Computer savvy. Good problem solver with computer programs and technology
  • Comfortable with databases, Microsoft office programs, constant contact, survey monkey and basic graphic design
  • Enthusiastic, Approachable
  • Excellent time managementand follow through

Hours:20-25h/weekas needed
