Short Story.

Your task is to write a short story. It needs to have a clear plot line that contains the elements of plot including exposition, rising action, climax, falling action, and denouement, but not necessarily in that order. Please limit your story to 2 pages or less.

Your short story must include the following elements:

PLOT: Be sure to review your short story graph

Why are you writing the story? What is the message or main idea you wish to communicate or tell?

POINT OF VIEW:

First Person: The protagonist tells his/her own story (I)

Limited Omniscient: Protagonist is referred to as “he” or “she”

Omniscient: The thoughts and feelings of every character is revealed by narrator

Objective: The reader hears and sees events unfold much like a movie camera

You may also want to think about using some of the following descriptive tools:

Imagery: Similes, Metaphors, and descriptive language

Symbolism: What do the objects represent? (eg. A rose symbolizes love)

Style: Is it informal or formal? Long or short sentences?Complicated or simple?

Tone: Attitude: What’s the mood? (E.gIs it sad, happy, angry?)
