Color Run

Proposal

Directions: With your peers, you will create a planning poster for this first event. Be creative, but realistic as possible for this event. Make sure you to include the following in your presentation. Your entire group will present this to the class.

□  Color Run– What comes to mind when you think of the color run? Describe. How would you modify to the black top and all freshmen.

□  Music – How should you music be presented? What kind of music should we play? Concerns. Comments.

□  Communication – How will freshmen & leaders know about this event? Advertisement.

□  Opening – How will the event open? Every event should have an opening to acknowledge that it is starting and set the scene for what’s coming next. What creative things can you do to make this event special and exciting? How would you group the freshmen with their leaders (knowing that many leaders will be busy)?

o  Remember. The opening sets the purpose of the event and gets students and leaders comfortable.

□  The Event – What’s going to be needed in order to make the blacktop “feel” like a color run? What should the leaders be doing? What should the freshmen be doing?

o  This is the first social event. How will the leaders be reunited with their crews?

o  This is the actual event, the reason people showed up and it should have something about it that makes it special or different.

□  The Closing – How will you thank everyone for coming? What type of wrap up is appropriate for the event? Does it need to be informational? Inspirational? Who will deliver it? What feelings/thoughts do you want attendees to leave the event with? Be specific.

o  The purpose of this is to leave people with a positive feeling about the event and to remind them that it was fun. What do you need to do to accomplish this?

*Remember: The commissioners and Ms. Fuentes will take everything you say in consideration so this event is given the right amount of WOW factor. We want this to be a success!
