Common Wheel supports people with mental illness by providing meaningful activities. We have two projects. Ourbike project supports people in repairing and recycling old bikes into 'good as new' bikes for our clients to ride away and keep. Ourmusic project supports people in singing, playing and composing music.Our projects aim to reduce isolation, improve mental wellbeing, and support people in learning new skills.

We have two bike workshops offering therapeutic activities in Maryhill and Bridgeton, Glasgow. Our music workshops take place in hospital wards at Gartnavel Royal Hospital (GRH), in care homes across Glasgow and in our music studio within the GRH site.

Role

Common Wheel is planning to recruit an Assistant Project Manager to assist the Project Manager in the day to day running of the organisation. This is a part time role of 14 hours per week. This new role is quite broad and the successful candidate will be expected to work flexibly to support the development and sustainability of Common Wheel. A key responsibility will be working on funding applications and writing funding reports. He or she will also help to monitor the effectiveness of the organisation by keeping our monitoring and evaluation databases up to date. Other tasks include general administration, supporting staff and our beneficiaries where appropriate and attending networking meetings across Glasgow.

Salary

£22,000–£25,000 pro-rata

Reports to: Project Manager

Location

Campbell House, GartnavelRoyalHospital, Glasgow.

Travel to project bases in Maryhill and Bridgeton will be required.

Occasional travel to local meetings will be required.

Contract

Fixed for 2 years. Possible extension if funding secured.

Job Description

Title: Assistant Project Manager

Summary

The post holder is responsible for supporting the Project Manager in the co-ordination and development of the organisation.

Responsibilities

1. Fundraising

  • Assisting the Project manager in producing funding applications and reports
  • Researching appropriate funders
  • Contributing to a funding plan

2. Project Development

  • Assisting the Project Manager in developing the services of the organisation within the 3-year plan

3. Administration

  • Devising and maintaining systems for general administration
  • Supporting staff at various locations to implement administration and monitoring systems
  • Providing basic IT support and advice to staff at various locations
  • Monitoring Common Wheel’s social media accounts

3. Evaluation and monitoring

  • Updating evaluation and monitoring databases
  • Producing evaluation and monitoring reports
  • Supporting the Project Manager in developing the evaluation and monitoring systems
  1. Client support
  • Engaging with clients and referral partners across the project and offering advice and support regarding further vocational activities

  • Representing the organisation at external meetings and networking events
  • Participating in personal and team development activities
  • Conforming to all relevant Common Wheel Policies and Procedures
